Is gokaraju rangaraju is an autonomous college? How good is the college?
Hey aspirant,
Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology is am autonomous college in Hyderabad, Telengana. It is approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC ( 'A' grade ).
Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology is an overall good college maybe not the best like NITs, IITs and GFITs.
I am reviewing this college on the following parameters for you better understanding :-
Placements - Around 70-60% students get placed. Placements are more in the software courses like CSE. The highest package offered is around 42 LPA, and that is offered to the most skilled candidates. The average package offered is 3.3-3.5 LPA. Companies like TCS and Capgemini do visit the college
Faculty - Curriculum is efficient. Teachers are helpful sometimes. Some of them are really good. Faculty members are qualified and experienced. The students have to work hard to become industry ready and should not depend on the teachers. Extra effort has to be given to do well in interviews.
Infrastructure - Infrastructure is good overall. The classrooms and laboratories are good and well equipped. Campus is full Wifi. Only hostel facilities are not available.
Hope this helps,
All the best!

what are government autonomous colleges? Are they same as government colleges??
Hello Laxmigupta ,
There is no difference between Autonomous government colleges and Government colleges .
Generally there are two types of universities
- Affiliated Colleges .
- Autonomous Universities .
Autonomous Universities means it don't follow other college rules and regulations they have their own Rules , System and Curriculum. They correct students exam papers with experience campus faculty in their college .
Affiliated Colleges means it follow college rules and regulations by affiliated university and exam papers also corrected by outside campus faculty .
I think this answer will help you lot .
All the best !!!!
how to give admissions in autonomous colleges and what is the speciality of autonomous colleges?
Hey aspirant,
Autonomous colleges are selected institutes which are given the freedom to develop the curriculum based on the latest industry needs. There are two types of autonomous institutes, one which can award their own degrees and the other cannot award their own degrees but have academic independence.
Their speciality is that the curriculum is frequently updated according to the latest industrial trends by the institute's faculty and stakeholders from industries, education boards etc. They also have the freedom to conduct their own exams. In case of non-autonomous institutes, it may take years and has to undergo many levels of approval for updating the syllabus.
Some autonomous institutes like Manipal, Amity, BITS-Pilani, VIT etc. conduct their own entrance exams, while some of them accept JEE Mains, SAT, state entrance exams etc. for engineering and other courses. Admission to autonomous medical colleges is only through NEET.

who is the top ranks BCA autonomous colleges in India?
- Christ University
- SIU Pune, Model Colony Campus
- Loyola College
- Kristu Jayanti College
SJC Bangalore - St. Joseph's College
These are some of the colleges which are top BCA autonmous colleges in India. I hope that it will be helpful and knowledge provider to you.
My son scored 143 JEE mains ranked 64000. He scored 254 in BITS. INTERESTED IN B.TECH, CS. FOR NIT WHICH COLLEGE SHOULD BE BETTER. AND FOR BITS PILANI WHAT SHOULD I DO? OR SHOULD I LOOK COLLEGES IN AUTONOMOUS COLLEGES IN MUMBAI? PL GUIDE
As your son has secured 64000 rank in JEE mains then I can assume that he has secured this much rank from general category.
Now with this much general category rank your son cannot get any NIT, but there is a chance that he can get NIT only if he belongs from certain home state because in some nits by applying home state quota one can get a good branch. For eg - if he belongs from himachal pradesh then he can get seat cse branch in nit Hamirpur.
But for other state candidates there is no chance to get any NIT even the lower ones with this much rank.
Also if you belong from home state of some of the top nits then also he cannot get a seat in any NIT.
Now as your son secured 254 marks in BITSAT then it is a better option that he should go with bits campuses because it's far more better than any of the NITs.
BITSAT is one of the most national reputed exam organised by BITS (BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE) for admission in undergraduate courses in bits pilani, bits goa and bits Hyderabad.
The difficulty level of bits exam can be compared to jee advanced.
As per seeing your son's score and last year cutoff scores for bits campus then your son has a chance to get :-
BITS PILANI CAMPUS:-
Manufacturing Engineering - 255
BITS HYDERABAD CAMPUS :-
Chemical Engineering - 252
Civil Engineering -254
BITS GOA CAMPUS :-
Chemical Engineering - 254
Now, as per the last year cut off for BITSAT, he cannot get Computer Science Engineering in any of the bits campuses but there is a chance that he can get manufacturing engineering in BITS Pilani. And he can also get BITS Hyderabad and BITS Goa Campus.
Now if you are thinking that apart from these two reputed Institutions i.e. nits or bits you should go with some other autonomous college of Mumbai, then it will not be the correct move for you and your son.
Because these two are nationally reputed Institutes.
BITS is a very good exceptional college so if you want to send your son to any autonomous college of Mumbai then it will be better and good move that you should send your son in BITS Hyderabad or BITS Goa because for these colleges the placements are very good and also he will get a tag of a reputed institution behind his back.
So, it would be better that he take admission in BITS, as there is low chance of bits pilani, but still according to me he should go with BITS Goa or BITS Hyderabad Campus instead of any other colleges of mumbai.
And it is a good opportunity that he will get to study in a college which is more good than nits. Though he will not get cse but apart from cse he can get other good branches in bits hyderabad or bits goa. And if he wants cse branch, then as per his capability he can change his branch to cse by securing more than 9.5 cgpa in his 1st year which will be a tough task.

For ComedK should one choose Autonomous colleges? For example if you compare SMVIT and NMIT, later is autonomous but former is not. Cutoff rank for SMVIT is lower than NMIT. This indicates autonomy do not play a major factor??
Hey aspirant,
There are certain differences between autonomous colleges and non-autonomous colleges. Firstly, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is an autonomous institute but under VTU, which means degree is awarded by VTU itself, whereas institutes like Manipal Institute of Technology is a fully autonomous college and they award their own degree.
Now, the advantage with autonomous colleges like NMIT is that they have the freedom to regularly update the curriculum based on industry needs, unlike non-autonomous colleges affliated to VTU, which takes significantly more time for changes in curriculum. They can also conduct their own exams and also offer generous summer vacation holidays (in case that matters to you). In case of non-autonomous colleges, students have to write exams conducted by VTU, the results can often be slow and paper re-correction is often a mess.
If you go with NIRF rankings for 2020, NMIT has bagged the 128th position, while SMVIT finds itself in the 251-300 rank nationwide. So cutoff isn't necessarily an indication of which college is better, maybe the institution wants students with better ranks while NMIT is a bit more flexible with it.
