I am giving my 10th boards this year on Basic mathematics. But I am aspiring to give my Standard mathematics exam in the compartment exam. Will my school and the boards will allow me to give the compartment exams?

Tanya Gupta 20th Jan, 2024

Hello,

If a student fails in Standard Math in the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam, CBSE offers the option to appear in the Compartment Examination.HTe student can choose to appear in either Basic Math or Standard Math. By choosing Basic Math, their Standard Math subject will be switched to Basic Math.

So, yes you can appear for standard mathd as compartment and your board and school are complied to work according to your wishes.

Hope this helps,

Thank you

6802-3=14562give the correct answer

piyush263001 20th Jul, 2022

Hello,

Your question isn't correct as 6802 -3 is not equal to 14562. There certainly is a typing mistake.

You have asked similar question before too. As per the question you posted earlier which contained decimal point after 3 instead of the equal to sign

6802 - 3.14562 = 6798.85438

After rounding off the above number, it is 6799.

I hope you find the answer helpful.

Thank you.

Hi I am now in 11 I choose arts with maths and economics but in 10 I have basic mathematics now my maths teacher not allow to continue with maths what can I do?

thakurvishesh1 15th Jul, 2022

Technically you should be allow to chose this course as Maths (Advanced) is only for those who want to pursue PCM in class 11th and go into the technical fields. You can always request to your principal that according to CBSE, you cannot be stopped from taking Arts with Maths and if you are still not allowed then you should either change you school or complaint about this to CBSE as you should always fight for your rights!

Hope I have answered your question. All the best!

dear sir/mam I have chosen basic mathematics in class 10th so can I take science (pcb) in class 11th in bihar board I m class 10th passed out student from cbse school jnv daman

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 9th Sep, 2021
Hi

With basic maths in 10th ,

Yes you can get admission in PCB science in bihar board or any other board.

In 10th cbse board, there are 2 options for maths.

----------)Standard maths :- it is for those who want to study maths after 10th.

----------) Basic maths :- it is for those who don't want to study maths after 10th like those who wants to science with Biology i. e PCB , commerce, arts etc in 10+2.

To help you further,

Here are the options after 10th :-

* 10+ 2 :-

You have to choose any one of science Commerce , Arts/Humanities streams.

---------)Science :-The science stream can be further divided into 3 groups depending upon the subjects one chooses

****** Non medical:- Science with PCMi.e physics, chemistry , maths group. There's no biology in PCM group.

You should basically choose this if you want to pursue engineering/architecture etc in future.

****** Medical :- Science with PCB i.e physics, chemistry biology.

You should choose PCB group if you want to get into medical field like mbbs, bds, nursing etc in future .

****** PCMB :- You can even go for science with PCMB i.e physics Chemistry Maths and Biology if you are interested in studying both Maths and Biology in your 10+2. But yes, it becomes a bit difficult to handle both biology and Maths. One advantage of choosing pcmb is after 10+2 you can go for both medical courses like MBBS, bams, nursing etc and non medical courses like engineering as well.

-----------)Commerce :- You get to study subjects like Accounts, Business studies, Economics & Maths ,Commerce etc. If you want to become a chartered accountant, company secretary, financial advisor etc in future, then commerce is for you. In commerce you acquire commercial knowledge required for business.

------------)Arts :- If you like subjects like history, polity etc then you can go for Arts. You get to study subjects like History, Geography, Literature, Political Science, economics etc. You should go for arts if you aspire to get into Journalism, literature, languages, history, psychology etc.

****** Polytechnic / Diploma in engineering :- After your 10th you can go for diploma courses in various branches of Engineering like mechanical, Electrical, Civil etc on the basis of your interest.

****** ITI :- ITI is a skill development course which you can go for after your 10th , you can do iti any trade of your choice like Electrician, fitter, Welder etc.

****** Paramedical courses :- after your 10th you can go for various paramedical courses for which you can get detailed information at https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/paramedical-courses-after-10th-12th

I am very weak in Physics. I am a NEET 2022 aspirant. I think my basic Mathematics is very weak thats why I cant able to do better in Physics. Can someone please tell me what are the most important topics in Basic Mathematics I must prepare very well to perform good in Physics.

Arhana Chakraborty 22nd Aug, 2021

See the tools you will require from the basic mathematics is mostly-

  • Geometry (mainly triangular geometry and circular geometry)
  • Coordinate geometry
  • Technique of plotting graphs (we learn this stuffs in class 8 or 9 by plotting values. You will not need graph papers but you have to just sketch in free hands)
  • Trigonometry (This is really important. You will find it every where in mechanics)
  • Solving Algebraic equation
  • Mensuration formula of Area, Volume, Curved and Whole surface area of objects such as Right Circular Cone, Sphere, Cylinder. You should know both the cases such as Hollow and solid.

If you learn this skills from elementary mathematics then you will not face any problem solving problems in physics. Also in your 11-12th learn Vector, Differentiation and Integration very well. Try to learn the coordinate geometry well and remember the condition of maxima and minima and how to find it. Knowing this much of mathematics will easily help you to crack NEET. You must keep your concepts clear in physics along with the mathematical tools.
