Hello aspirant,

In government dental colleges, the bond amount is typically 5 lakhs if you leave the BDS course midway without finishing it; however, this can vary from state to state. In private dental colleges, you will be required to pay the full cost for the duration of the BDS degree.

1st YEAR BDS RGUHS, karnataka. What happens if i fail again in supplementary, but i already passed two major subjects (2/3). Will i be able to write second year exam?

sadafreen356 14th Jan, 2025

According to RGUHS regulations, if you fail again in your supplementary exam for the first year BDS even after passing two major subjects, you will not be able to proceed to the second year and will have to repeat the first year entirely because you did not clear all the required subjects within the stipulated time frame.

Carry-over system limitations:

While RGUHS allows carrying over one subject to the next year, if you fail more than one subject, you need to clear all the failed subjects before moving to the next year.

Repeat the entire year:

If you fail in the supplementary exam, you will have to re-enroll in the first year and retake all the subjects again.

Check with your college:

Always consult your college authorities for the most updated information regarding examination rules and regulations.

Hope this is helpful to you!!

I have completed my internship 6 months ago but I didnt apply for provisional registration for BDS during my internship period.can I apply now? or should I directly apply for permanent registration?

Mitali Sharma 5th Dec, 2024

Hello

You can directly apply for permanent registration if the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the respective State Dental Council allows it . Provisional registration is generally required during your internship period , but if it wasn’t applied for earlier , it may no longer be necessary after completing the internship .

Contact the relevant council for guidance on the required documents and process for permanent registration .

Hope this helps you .

In j and k an ews category student usually gets mbbs seat with 420 marks could you tell me what will be the cut off for bds?

Deepti Singh 3rd Dec, 2024

Hello,

The cut-off in Jammu and Kashmir for students to get the MBBS seats under the EWS category is around 420 in NEET. For BDS, the cutoff is slightly lower than the MBBS cutoff. Following the trend and previous years' cut-off data:

  • EWS Cutoff Marks: As per the percentile 50 for NEET 2024, the marks for appearing in the counseling process of the EWS category should be at least 164.
  • BDS Trends: Closing ranks of government dental colleges under diverse categories for the previous year were in the range of around 16,000 to 30,000. So, probably, BDS seats under EWS category will be viable with NEET scores anywhere from 350 to 400, which may all depend on college and type of counseling round.

More precise information and better predictions can only be got by awaiting the state counseling notification and merit list release for the 2024 admission cycle.
