Well, there's an eligibility criteria for some PSU's like IOCL to have an aggregate 65% if you go through the recruitment process without the gate exam.

I would like to you inform you that GATE will be the only and the best option for you because it does not demand any specific criteria as per percentages is concerned as well as their is no provision for year back in the GATE exam. For this you can follow the books like "Let us C" and basic programming language.

These are the sufficient enough books.

Let us c will cover the syllabus of first semester as well as second semester.

Fee structure and average package depends on college if you'll go to private colleges like bits Pilani or bit mesra or amity university then fees will be more than 12 lakhs there but in government colleges and some lower private colleges the fees is lower. Placements depends totally on college reputation.

• Computer engineers get's chance to write ies (indian engineering service) conducted by upsc twice in a year. Moreover state govt exams are there through public service commission they can enter in govt.offices.
•  ibps conduct's exam for b.tech comuter engineer once a year for the recruitment for 20 commercial banks.

• Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd.

During your gate preparation your subjects will be just same as that of mechanical engineering but during paper you will write the subject code as MN which shows specialization or MTECH in mining .
