BA Admission 2022: Admission Process

1. Students must clear their class 12 board exam from a recognized board.
2. They must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate in class 10 and class 12 exams.
3. Colleges offer 5% relaxation in the aggregate marks for students from SC / ST backgrounds.

In order to be eligible for B. Ed admission in India, you must have a bachelor degree from a recognised university or college . Students who pursue B. Tech at the UG level must have scored at least 55% marks in aggregate while those who have completed a BA/ B.Sc/ equivalent degree must have obtained 50% marks.

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is the first open university in India. It was established by an Act of the Karnataka Legislature on 13th October, 1993. The answer to your question lies in the fact that you want to appear for UPSC with or without back up plan, see BA-BEd degree is really good option if you're aiming for career in teaching as a back-up plan, you can easily appear for CTET and state level SETs if you enjoy teaching, if you don't then you can simply pursue BA program or BA Hons in political science, history, geography, economics, public administration, sociology etc as there is considerable overlap with the syllabus of  general studies and optional subject, in general the eligibility criteria of UPSC is passed graduation in any stream from a recognized university, there is no specific aggregate required in this case, you can appear even in the final year of graduation, and you need to attain 21 years as on 1st August of the appearing year.
