I am doing BFA can I become a fashion designer after this degree?

Suchana Datta 17th Sep, 2021

Hi,

Students must complete a thesis of their own professional work as well. Students who earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design will focus on courses such as color theory, draping, textiles, and drawing. Graduates have the option to seek more education through master's degree programs.

The eligibility for Post Graduation in fashion design is bachelor's degree in fashion design or an equivalent bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks from a University recognised by UGC. If a student has finished a three year diploma in any stream he/ she is also eligible for this course.

Hope this helps

Wish you luck

I want to know about bfa in applied art admission process.

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 11th Sep, 2021

Dear,

BFA Applied Arts is an undergraduate Fine Arts course. The course is basically  4 years long and the examinations can be either semester wise or yearly.

The admission process for BFA Applied Arts is generally merit based, though some colleges and universities also conduct entrance exams. Mostly, the candidates will have to pass a personal interview and Art Skill Test round before final selection.

Here are some steps to understand the process better-

  1. Entrance Exam: For the colleges accepting entrance based admissions, the candidates will have to qualify in these exams first. The entrance exams are conducted either by the colleges themselves or by some other authorities like university or state entrance boards.
  2. Application To the College: The candidates will have to apply in the colleges where they wish to get admission. The candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying.
  3. Personal Interview and Portfolio Examination: After shortlisting the candidates, the colleges will call the selected candidates for a personal interview and portfolio examination. During this step, the art skills of the candidates will be tested.
  4. Enrollment: After examining the portfolio, if the candidate seems fit for the course, he/she will be granted enrollment to the BFA Applied Arts course.

Hope this helps!

suchayitaanusaha 30th Aug, 2021

Hello,

It's totally depends on you. Because you completed your ba honours in Hindi and ma in drawing. Both are totally different. So if you want to be a teacher then doing the b.ed course.  Now think about your future. If you want to be an art teacher or extra curricular teacher then main subject will be drawing for you. But if you want to be a history teacher then drawing will be additional subject to you. Choice is totally yours think and take the decision.

All the best.
