Im frm tier 3 college. I have btech in Biomedical Engineering and soon will be graduating with mtech in Biomedical instrumentation. Not interested in teaching, i want go for job . my pg 1yr i realized my major field pays very less than other domain. I planning to switch majors. For me/mtech in control and instrumentation or me/mtech in chemical engineering.... im really confused what to choose

Chelsie G 30th Oct, 2025

Since you already have a background in Biomedical Engineering and Biomedical Instrumentation, shifting to MTech in Control and Instrumentation would be a better and smoother transition than Chemical Engineering. It aligns well with your existing technical base in sensors, automation, and signal systems, and offers more job opportunities in industries like manufacturing, robotics, and process automation. Chemical Engineering, on the other hand, would require learning a completely new domain and might not utilize your current skills effectively.

I have btech in Biomedical Engineering . Can i join mtech or me in chemical engg. As i want to switch majors

Amisha Soni 30th Oct, 2025

Hello dear candidate,

Yes, you can switch from biomedical to chemical engineering.

But you will need to check college's eligibility rules as only some colleges allows it. Or you may need to take the GATE exam in chemical or biotechnology.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thank you.

i have btech in Biomedical Engineering and mtech in medical instrumentation. can opt for instrumentation engineer jobs in oil and gas industry offshore

Rithwik Kumar Sahu 27th Aug, 2025

With a BTech in Biomedical Engineering and MTech in Medical Instrumentation, you can definitely apply for instrumentation engineer roles in the oil and gas industry, including offshore jobs.

Instrumentation in oil and gas involves monitoring and controlling machinery and processes which is quite related to your background in medical instrumentation because both require handling complex instruments and control systems.

You might need to get familiar with industry-specific standards and tools used in oil and gas, like SCADA systems, PLCs, and safety regulations for offshore platforms. Certifications or short courses related to industrial instrumentation can boost your chances.

So, your educational background is relevant and you can transition into instrumentation engineering roles offshore with some targeted preparation and skill upgrade!

Which course is best mtech biomedical engineering or mtech medical nanotechnology

gopi 7th Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Both M. Tech in Biomedical Engineering and M. Tech in Medical Nanotechnology offer excellent career opportunities, however, it will depend on your areas of interest and career goals.

  • M.Tech Biomedical Engineering is more general and covers medical devices and imaging, prosthetics, and healthcare systems and is a good choice if you are looking to apply engineering to practical clinical problems, if you want a diverse range of employment in a hospital, a medical technology company, or as a researcher.
  • In contrast, M.Tech Medical Nanotechnology is more specialized with an emphasis on nanoscale drug delivery, diagnostics, and regenerative medicine. It is best for students looking for advanced research qualifications, looking to work in emerging pharma or R&D professional suites, small medical-nanotechnology businesses, or potentially higher, such as a Ph.D.

My son has just cleared his 10th std with 88.2 % and now took admission in 11th with JEE main preparation with PCM .. He wants to persue biomedical engineering.. what are its future prospescts and what is the admission procedure to get admission in VIT Vellore . we stay in Mumbai

Sonakshi Kumari 17th Jun, 2025

Hello,

Congratulations on your son's success for his excellent performance in 10th standard.Biomedical Engineering is a  growing field that combines engineering principles with medical and biological sciences to improve healthcare technology, such as medical devices, diagnostics, and artificial organs. The future prospects for biomedical engineering are bright, especially with advancements in healthcare, biotechnology,

For admission to VIT Vellore in B.Tech Biomedical Engineering, students need to appear for VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination), conducted by the university itself. The exam is usually held in April every year, and the application forms are released around November–December. Since your son has just entered Class 11, he should focus on strengthening his Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) foundation, along with preparation for VITEEE and JEE Main for broader opportunities. Being residents of Mumbai does not affect eligibility; admission is purely based on VITEEE performance for general category students.

Encourage your son to stay consistent in his preparation. Apart from VIT, also keep options open like IITs, NITs (through JEE Advanced/Main) and other reputed private universities that offer biomedical engineering programs.

Wishing your son all the best for his preparation and future career.

Hello Community, A friend of mine is applying for Josaa councelling , based on his rank there is possibility of getting NIT Rourkela CSE , and by advanced rank IIT Hyderabad Biomedical Engineering Would there be any advantage of taking IIT hyderabad Biomedical engg in compariison with NIT Rourkela

Afreen 17th Jul, 2025

There are several factors to consider when comparing NIT Rourkela CSE and IIT Hyderabad Biomedical Engineering:

Placements

IIT Hyderabad: Has a high placement rate, with the highest package recorded at INR 90 LPA and an average package of INR 22.5 LPA in 2024. Some sources suggest the CSE department has an average package of INR 29.68 LPA. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, IBM, Capgemini, and Amazon.

NIT Rourkela: In 2024, the average package was INR 13.43 LPA, and the highest was INR 120 LPA (ECE branch). For CSE, the average package in 2024 was INR 21.60 LPA, and in 2023 it was INR 24.07 LPA. Top recruiters include Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wipro, and Deloitte.

IIT vs NIT Tag

IITs have a prestigious reputation, known for academic excellence and strong alumni networks. IIT graduates often secure higher placements and easier access to higher education opportunities abroad.

NITs are also excellent institutions, offering strong programs and opportunities, although they might not carry the same brand recognition as the older IITs.

Ultimately, the "best" option is subjective and depends on individual priorities and goals. It is recommended that your friend research both programs thoroughly, consider their interests, and perhaps consult with professors or professionals in both fields to make an informed decision.

I got CRL -310678 and obc ncl rank-109624 and a female candidate domicile of bihar .which is the best govt college for cse ,ai&ML ,IT,ECE ,AVIATION ,BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING ?

Abhilasha Agrawal 18th Sep, 2025

With a CRL 310678 and OBC-NCL rank 109624 (female, Bihar domicile), admission to CSE, AI & ML, IT, or ECE in top government colleges is unlikely due to high competition.

Mechanical or Civil Engineering at Government Engineering College, Gaya or West Champaran is more feasible.

Specialized branches like Aviation or Biomedical Engineering are rarely available in Bihar government colleges.
