I dont like physics... can I pursue subjects like biochemistry, biotechnology without it?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 26th May, 2021

If you go for Biochemistry then you may have to study a course named Quantum Mechanics which is a topic of Modern Physics as well as Biotechnology will also have some courses which will require physics. If you don't like physics then also this courses will not irritate you that much as compared to Mechanics or EMT. So you can take this and with time you will get the facts clear. Note if you have good mathematical background then Quantum Mechanics will feel you more like mathematics than physics. So no need to worry! Keep studying.

can an M.sc medical biochemistry student do research in neurochemistry?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 30th May, 2021

Obviously you can do reflexive research in the interdisciplinary fields which is encouraged by most of the universities. In PHD's there are no particular framework of research that you have to strictly. If your instructor is actively participated in the research which have some connections to the Neurochemistry then you can easily merge your field and your research field to get some amazing research topic out of it. These is in general the phenomenon going all over the world. So if you have the passion and have to legitimate patience of learning a bit of new stuff then definitely you can and you excel.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 26th Mar, 2021

hi,

see your biotechnology score is high compare to XL score in gate. HOWEVER you CAN MENTION BOTH OF THE SCORE IN GATE COUNSELLING OF ccmt. However I would suggest to apply for m.tech bio technology course since it is quite popular now and governments and private organizations are funding for biotechnology based research. based on previous years score analysis you have good chances for nit durgapur biotechnology stream.
