harsh singh 10th Apr, 2025

Yes, a B.Sc. Zoology (Hons.) student can pursue an M.Sc. in Marine Biology. Since zoology covers various aspects of animal biology, including marine life, it provides a strong foundation for marine biology studies. However, eligibility criteria vary by university. Some institutions may require additional coursework in marine sciences, while others may admit students based on entrance exams or interviews.

if i will already applied for pcmb in kcet it is compulsory to me to write biology in kcrt which i applied....... If i write bio if there is seperate ranking for engeneering and agriculture

Riya Dhoot 11th Apr, 2025

Hello,

if you've applied for PCMB in KCET, it's not mandatory to write the bilology paper unless you're aiming for courses like agriculture, veterinary or pharmacy. for engineering admissions, only PCM scores are considered and biology iss not required. KCET provides separate rankings for engineering and agriculture, so writing biology will give you an additional agriculture rank without affecting your engineering rank

hi I am biology group student and I secured 85 percent in my class 11 and now I completed my class 12 and I am interested in arts and science can I get seat in MCC and how cutt off is calculated because I am biology group and I dont know how cutt off is calculated for arts and science

Rohan 14th Apr, 2025

With 85% in Class 12, you are eligible to apply for undergraduate courses in Arts and Science at Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai. Admissions are merit-based, and the specific eligibility criteria vary depending on the course.

To calculate the cut-off for Arts and Science courses, MCC considers the marks obtained in four subjects: English, one language paper, and two elective subjects (such as Biology and Chemistry for biology students). The aggregate marks of these four subjects are used to determine your cut-off score, which will be compared to the cut-offs for the courses you are applying to.

To apply for a course, visit the MCC admission portal, select your preferred course, and complete the online application form with your Class 12 marks and necessary documents. After submission, wait for the merit list to be published. If your name appears, you will be called for further admission procedures.

It is advisable to regularly check the official website for updates on application deadlines and merit list announcements.

best university for marine biology in india with placement details

Saurabh Yadav 8th Apr, 2025

Hii,

Andhra University, CUSAT (Kerala), and Pondicherry University are the best for marine biology in India. These universities are near the sea, so students get hands-on experience. Placements are mostly in research institutes, government jobs, or NGOs. Private jobs are fewer, so many students go for higher studies. It's best for those passionate about marine life and research, not for high-paying corporate jobs.

how can i get a free seat in Cochin University of mairne biology??

Vedant Rathi 5th Apr, 2025

Hi aspirant,

The answer depends on what sense you are asking for free seat in cochin university of science and Technology. if it is in the sense of zero cost or you can say free from paying fees.

  • Admission to the PG program at the Cochin University of Science and Technology is based on an entrance exam (common admission test). Scoring high on the entrance exam can give you a zero-cost seat.
  • If you have performed well in your undergraduate degree, CUSAT also offers a full scholarship. Or you can apply for state-level or government level scholarships.
  • You can also get a free seat if you are from the reserved category, but it requires clearing in the CAT and document verification.

In any three of the way you have to clear entrance exam first for that you can check the details here or if you any queries regarding this answer feel free to ask.
