To apply for a B.Sc. (Biology) or B.Sc. (Zoology) undergraduate course, you'll generally need to complete your 10+2 with science subjects from a recognized board, typically including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Some institutions may require specific minimum marks or offer admission based on entrance exams like CUET or others specific to the university. After meeting the eligibility criteria, you'll need to apply through the university's online portal, potentially participating in counselling or further rounds of selection.

How to apply for the UG course B.Sc. (Biology) or B.Sc. (Zology)

Pradeepa P 30th Jun, 2025

To apply for B.Sc. Biology or B.Sc. Zoology, you must have passed Class 12 with Biology. Admissions are either merit-based (using Class 12 marks) or entrance-based (such as CUET for central universities). You need to visit the official website of the college or university, fill the application form, upload documents, and pay the fee. Based on the merit list or entrance score, attend counselling and confirm your admission.

Generally speaking, you must have passed your 10 + 2 with biology, physics, and chemistry from an accredited board in order to apply for an undergraduate BSc (Biology) or BSc(Zoology) program. Checking the university's Eligibility requirements, completing the online application on its website, paying the application cost, and taking any necessary in trains examinations are the usual steps in the application process.

i got full marks in biology cuet but got very very low scores in chemistry and physics. are there any chances to get into any govt central uni like DU,BHU, JMI etc. I am ready to get admission in any science related course

Nikita shahi 17th Jul, 2025
Hii,
Scoring full marks in Biology in CUET is a great achievement, and it shows your strength in the subject. But low scores in Chemistry and Physics may affect your chances for some specific science courses, it doesn’t mean that you cannot get admission anywhere especially when you're open to exploring a variety of science-related courses. When it comes to getting into reputed central universities like Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), admission is typically based on your best-of-subject scores, depending on the course you're applying for. For many B.Sc. (Hons.) programs, especially in Biology-related fields like Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, or Life Sciences, your Biology score will be given the highest weightage.
At DU, different colleges and courses have their own subject combinations and cutoffs. If you're applying for a course like B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany or Zoology, many colleges may consider Biology and English as core subjects and might accept low Chemistry/Physics marks if your overall percentile remains competitive.

On the other hand at BHU, they conduct CUET-based admissions, and you still have a fair shot for science-related courses, especially in the biological sciences domain. They often publish a merit list that gives more weightage to your best-scoring subjects.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers various science programs and some vocational or interdisciplinary courses that may not strictly demand high Physics and Chemistry marks if you're strong in Biology.

Since you're ready to take admission in any science-related course, consider looking into programs like:B.Sc. in Life Sciences,B.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology,B.Sc. in Nutrition & Dietetics and more You can check

Also, you can check state universities or other central institutes where competition may be slightly lower and cutoff combinations may be more flexible.

Thank you and all the best for your admission!

I will give paramedical exam , while filling the form I have filled maths and biology both in qualifying subject , but I wanna attend biology question in exam ? So how can I correct that ? And what if they give maths question? What will I do ?

tanvi bansal 18th Jul, 2025

Dear Candidate,

If you filled out both Mathematics and Biology as your qualifying subjects in the paramedical exam application form but now want to attempt only the Biology section in the exam, first check if the exam authority has given a chance to correct your application. Many entrance exams let candidates change their submitted forms within a certain time frame. Go to the official website of the paramedical exam to see if you can fix your subject combination. If you can't make corrections online, it's best to reach out to the exam authority via their helpline or official email. Explain your situation and ask if you can attempt only the Biology section. If the exam does not allow changes and you receive a Maths paper based on your original choice, it may hurt your chances if you are not prepared for Maths. Therefore, keep an eye on the admit card or instructions given before the exam to check which paper you will get. If both subjects are listed in the question paper, choose to attempt only the biology section. If you can, review some basic Maths as a backup. Acting early and contacting the officials is the best way to prevent issues on exam day.

Best of Luck

main 12th me pcm li thi or biology extra me li thi to kya main aiims bsc nursing ka exam de sakti hu

Nikita shahi 18th Jul, 2025

Hii,

Yes, if you had Biology as an additional subject in Class 12 along with Physics and Chemistry, then you can apply for the AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Eligible for this exam you should studied English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in your 12th. If Biology was an extra subject, it’s fine as long as you appeared for it in your board exam and passed. Also, your marks in Biology should be at least 55% if you’re from the General/OBC category, and 50% if you belong to SC/ST.

If all these conditions are met, then you’re eligible for AIIMS Bsc nursing exam.

Thank you and best of luck

Ive Failed in Mathematics in my Class 12 exam but Ive passed in PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, English and Alternative English with aggregation of more than 75%. Am I eligible for NEET ? And Also I want to take admission in veterinary.

Sonakshi Kumari 24th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, you are eligible for NEET and Veterinary courses if you fulfill the required PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) percentage criteria even if you failed in Mathematics.

Eligibility for NEET:

You must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually.

Minimum required marks (General Category): 50% aggregate in PCB

For OBC/SC/ST: 40% aggregate in PCB

Mathematics is not mandatory for NEET eligibility.
Since you passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, you can appear for NEET if your PCB aggregate is above the required percentage.

For Veterinary ,eligibility is same as NEET eligibility.

All the best for your journey.
