sir, I am planning to start my preparation for GATE22 now. Iam pursuing instrumentation engineering and aiming to get into psus. Could yu tell me where i have to start and details about getting into psu company

Vinay Kumar 9th Sep, 2020

Hello aspirant,

Most of the PSU's now recruit graduate trainees through GATE examination. The one's that don't either conduct their own test or recruit from colleges directly.

The one's that recruit through GATE, shortlist the candidates based on their respective GATE scores and dispatch the call letters in the month of June.

Results are generally declared in the month of August but can get delayed sometimes if company decides to change the vacancies. Post declaration of results , selected candidates are called for medical examination. Few PSU's namely BHEL, HPCL, ONGC, RITES also declare a list of candidates in waiting which is a good step.

Prepare with full potential.

All the best.

If I get SGSITS from biomedical engineering then ,,can I switch the branch whatever I want in SGSITS like ECE,,CSE,,IT etc. by scoring good CGPA in 1 st year of college

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Sep, 2020

hi,

see in most of the university rules students of engineering course like b.tech or b.e may change their branch after first years study, since the first year syllabus is same to all the department, so it would easier for the student to grasp the subjects in second year studies what ever branch he/ she may allocate to. now the change of department solely depends on your first year academic score , you must secure a very high score of above 9 point cgpa to change the department, also there would be quite competition among students and highest scorer gets the priority.

another options is internal sliding , after getting admission in college you may apply for branch change, however it also depends on whether the particular department has seat vacant for more candidates.

hope it would help.

galgotia college of engineering and technology with Electronics and Instrumentation engineering OR G.L Bajaj Noida with ECE , Which one I prefer ?

Jainshahajal 18th Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

It is tough to say which is best. Both college have very good placement records and both have giving same package.
But if you want school type feeling and you don't want to enjoy your college life they you can go with GL Bajaj. They have very unwanted rules they doesn't give you freedom. They don't have good college fest or freshers party..

But if you a guys want to enjoy your college life with study then Galgotias is best. Here you have all freedoms to enjoy and they have very very good college fest or freshers party and one more important thing they have so many extra curricular activities which is help to polish your self..

But both GL Bajaj and Galgotias were very strict rules when coming today attendance.. you have to maintain 75% attendance.

So over all I think Galgotias with Electronics and Instrumentation is best.

Hi,

I would recommend you to go for CSE branch in IET Lucknow. You can get any branch in IET, Lucknow.
Previous year's cutoff for CSE (obc) : 357-495

This year 72 companies visited the campus. Highest package offered was 14 LPA and average package was 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Adobe, TCS, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, L&T, syntel, Cognizant and many more. Placement opportunities are very high in CSE in IET, Lucknow.

my rank in uptu is general 1828 OBC 471 . i shoul join Electronic and instrumentation engineering or civil or mechanical or electrical or whether I should join CS in knit sultanpur???

ARYAN SAGAR 18th Oct, 2020
Dear student,

First of all congratulations that you have secured 1828 general merit rank in UPSEE exam. Now your rank is very good and definitely you can get many good colleges including IET Lucknow and knit Sultanpur.
Now as per seeing the last year cutoff closing rank for KNIT Sultanpur then there is no chance that you can get Computer Science Engineering in KNIT Sultanpur. But apart from computer science engineering you can definitely get many other good branches as you have mentioned like electrical or mechanical or civil engineering.
All these branches are very good in KNIT Sultanpur. But if you are specifically asking then according to me you must go with electrical engineering branch in KNIT Sultanpur.

Also click the following link to know more about the cutoff closing rank for KNIT Sultanpur :-

Which is better electronic and instrumentation engineering at haldia institute of technology, techno main saltlake or meghnad institute of technology.how is the placement.

samarpit das 14th Oct, 2020

Before I start answering I want to inform you that MSIT does not have B.Tech/B.E course for electronics and instrumentation,if we are to compare HIT and Meghnad Institute of Technology, personally I would suggest you Haldia Institute of Technolgy as the said branch is more developed in HIT,although both colleges are equivalent from other perspective.Although placement is a bit better in techno main salt lake. But I personally believe it is your knowledge that will take you places and quality of education is better at HIT.

However, you can use the below link to make a comparision

Hope you get the best!

What are the scopes of Electronic and instrumentation engineering?

Aman Kumar 2nd Sep, 2020

Hello aspirant!!

Today, we find instruments at home and at workplace, and this was possible only because of the science Instrumentation. Since instrumentation being the order of the day, it is very much necessary for the young minds to get accustomed with the latest developments in instrumentation field. Moreover Instrumentation being one of the most important sought branches in Industrial point of view, a combination of Electronics and Instrumentation would fetch high dividends for the students who take up Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as their career course.

This is a multi-disciplinary stream and covers subjects from various branches such as chemical, mechanical, electrical, electronics, biomedical and computers. This helps in making a switch to other disciplines, if anyone wishes to after completion of the Course. Instrumentation engineering is a specialised branch and it deals with measurement, control and automation of processes.

Nowadays, almost all industries are automated.Automation being one of the latest trend in all Industries, is therefore highly in need for expertise in the field of Electronics and Instrumentation to achieve their requirements. Automation is the core job of instrumentation engineers. As the trend of automation picks up in India and abroad, Instrumentation and Control Engineers are finding more and more job opportunities. Right from R&D units to aerospace companies, pharmaceuticals, food industries, thermal power plants, steel plants, fertiliser plants, automobile companies, biomedical companies, refineries and cement plants, these engineers find job opportunities in almost all domains of the world.

Control and Optimization is another important criterion in many Industries. Electronics and Instrumentation engineers having good exposure in these areas will be highly effective in solving various critical needs of the Industries.

An instrumentation engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipments which are used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.

Job Oppurtunities

Btech genetic engineering ,btech biomedical engineering ,btech bioinformatics which has scope in future

Harsha Sinha 11th Oct, 2020

Hi there,

Currently all these three sections of engineering has not a decent scope in India, although bthere are many laboratories where gentical research are being carried out and many genetic engineers are there, but the salary is not that good at initial level, if you have masters degree as well then you might get a good salary still there are no such good opportunities in the current scenario for anybof the above mentioned branches.

The main reason is the only few college like

  • Sharda university
  • B. S. Abdur rahman university
  • BIHER

Provides these branches there are no IITs or NITs offering it,

Hence I would suggest that if you can patiently work with this then might be after 10 years the scenario change.i hope this help
