Admission to Biomedical Engineering in PSG college of Engineering in based on merit in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2 level. A single window counseling is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai. So you need to apply for TNEA counselling conducted by Anna University.
Biomedical engineering comprises of study of tissue engineering, molecular or system level , physiology and mathematics. You will be able to study about devices used in medical department from xrays, sonography, etc. Also you will study about electronics, quantitative and analytical skills required to interpret data acquired and processing of medical data including imaging and enhancement techniques. Your work will be making medical test easy for people. Design various machines such as cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, oxygenators, etc.

yes definitely, you can apply for M.Tech in biomedical engineering after your undergraduation (BE/Btech) in Instrumentation. Also, you can apply for GATE exam if you wish to take admission in a good college. Also, as biomedical is entirely different from instrumentation, you need to work hard, and make your fundamentals strong in human science and biology. Kindly note that you must have at least 60% in your undergraduation.
