I have a doubt in cuet exam I scored 240.67/400 i wrote only biology and English can iget seat in central university of tamilnadu for bsc biotechnology

gopi 5th Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Based on your CUET score of 240.67/400 in Biology and English, you have a fair chance, but it all depends on the cut off trend, category and number of applicants. Based on previous years, the cut off for general category has generally been around 250-280 marks. So if you fall under OBC/SC/ST you might have higher chances. Please keep in mind to follow the official counselling portal for exact cut offs.

Is bsc biotechnology best or pharm d in India

Prachi Kumari 8th Jul, 2025

Hello,

Both BSc Biotechnology and Pharm D are good, but they are different fields.

BSc Biotechnology is more about research, lab work, and industries like agriculture, food, and genetics. It is good if you want to work in labs or go for higher studies like MSc or PhD.

Pharm D is a professional doctor-level course. It is best if you want to become a clinical pharmacist or work in hospitals and healthcare.

If you are interested in hospital jobs or clinical practice, go for Pharm D . If you like research and lab work, go for BSc Biotechnology.

Hope it helps !

Last year cut off of sppu for btech biotechnology obc

lisa 30th Jun, 2025

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) cut-off for B.Tech Biotechnology for the OBC category last year varied based on the specific college and round of admissions. Generally, for colleges affiliated with SPPU, the cut-off for OBC candidates ranged from the 60th to the 80th percentile in the MHT-CET exam. Some colleges might have had cutoffs as low as the 25th percentile in earlier rounds, while others, particularly for popular programs or in later rounds, could have had cutoffs exceeding the 80th percentile.

I got a rank of 1,178 in TS PGCET in civil engineering category OBC D.I want to do specialization in geotechnical or transportation or structural engineering. Can I get a seat in Jntu or osmania or kakatiya or jntu sultanpur or aided colleges?

Abhilasha Agrawal 2nd Aug, 2025

With a TS PGECET rank of 1,178 in Civil Engineering (OBC-D category), your chances of getting a seat in JNTU Hyderabad or Osmania University (OU) for core specializations like Geotechnical, Structural, or Transportation Engineering are difficult, as these branches are in high demand and generally close within the top 500–700 ranks.

However, you have better chances in:

1. JNTU Sultanpur

2. Aided/private colleges affiliated to JNTU/OU

3. You may get a seat in later rounds (spot/mop-up) if some seats remain vacant.

I am planning to join jain for bsc biotechnology biochemistry and genetic. Is the college good

OISHEE BANERJEE 26th Jun, 2025

So Jain University is actually pretty decent for B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Genetics. The labs are well-equipped, and they do focus on research and internships, which is cool if you're planning to go into postgrad or research later. Faculty is generally supportive, and there’s flexibility in the course structure too.

But, placements for core science fields like biotech can be a bit hit or miss—not bad, just not super strong either. If you're really into lab work and research, it’s a good choice.
