what is the 20 percentile of up board of 2022

gupta.virat1357 6th Sep, 2022
Hello,
According to your score 20 percentile in JEE mains , your rank will be under 1000000 . With this rank it is impossible to get any of the NITs or IIITs or CFTIs. Percentile indicates how many students have been outperformed by you in exam. Top 20 percentile means that you are ahead of 80% of the people. Percentile scores range from the 1st through 99th percentile, indicating the percentage of scores in the comparison group which are lower than the test taker's score. Generally the students are required to score more than 75% or above to enter to the top 20 percentile of their respective boards just to be eligible for joint entrance examination(JEE). Usually the cutoff marks for the general category students goes to 66-68%, for OBC 65-66% ,for SC 63% ,for ST 62.5% . Percentile ranks are often expressed as a number between 1 and 99, with 50 being the average. So if a student scored a percentile rank of 87, it would mean that they performed better than 87% of the other students in his norm group. There is no qualification criteria for giving JEE. For JEE you must have passed your class 12 board examination. But, to get admission into NIT/ IIT you'll have to be in the top 20 percentile of the boards.
In 2019, general category cutoff stood at 66.8%, fo 65.2% for other backward class (OBC), 63% for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 62.8% for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
So, usually for general category the percentage falls between 65-72. The official percentile data has not been declared by JOSAA yet.

I was studying in class 12 with commerce stream from CBSE board but i left in the mid of year (2022). Can i eligible for JEE advanced by repeating class 12 with PCM from the NIOS board (2023)? Is it legal or not?

mkahampa 4th Sep, 2022
Dear Pankaj,

Yes! You will be eligible for JEE as the eligiblity to appear for jee is you should have passed class 12th with Minimum of 75% for general catagory and 65% for other reserved catagory. It is not at all mentiond in the eligiblity criteria if you have failed the exam and reappeared or you must complete it from any specific board. All you need to have is a class 12th pass certificate. But do remember the other eligiblity criteria as well such as minimum percentage which I have already mentioned above and age requirements, maximum attempts etc. I wish you all the best for your jee preparation journey, you'll surely ace the test.

All the best :)

I was studying in class 12 with commerce stream from CBSE board but i left in the mid of year (2022). Can i take admission in IIT by repeating class 12 with PCM from the NIOS board (2023)? Is it legal or not?

Sachin Kumar Sawera 4th Sep, 2022
Hello Pankaj

As per information bulletin to appear in JEE MAINS these are eligibility related to qualifying exam.
  1. Students should have passed 10+2 from any recognised board.
  2. Senior Secondary school Examination conducted by NIOS with minimum 5 subjects.
  3. At least 75 percentile in 12th board or rank among the top 20 percentile in qualifying exams.
  4. Physics and Mathematics are mandatory.
  5. Maximum three consecutive attempts like for JEE MAINS 2022 you should have passed 12th in last passing year should be 2020 .

Also note your state of eligibility for NIOS will be that state in which your centre was allotted. So, you will be eligible for JEE MAINS if you repeat from NIOS.

Keep learning, keep growing. The day you stopped learning your growth stops.

Thanks

Hi aspirant
See, in such a case your most recent marksheet of 12th standard would be considered as valid during the admission process. You can use that marksheet to fill in all the details of the exam and during the Counseling and admission process as well. There should be no issues with the admission process in such a matter.
Hope this helps you.
All the best :)

how can my board marks of 12 class be increase after 2 years of passing out by nios

Shivanshu 4th Sep, 2022

Dear aspirant!

Hope you are doing well !

Yes ,you can repeat class 12th even after pasing it because of some reason . You can repeat it if there is not more than 2 or 3 years of gap between 10 th and 12th . If there is more gap then you need to give 10th exam also and then 12th exam .. do your +2 again with some hardwork and increase your marks easily .

Hope it helps you!

Thanking you
