Algebra: Sets, operations on sets. Prime numbers, factorization of integers and divisibility. Rational and irrational numbers. Permutations and combinations, basic probability. Binomial Theorem. Logarithms. Polynomials: Remainder Theorem, Theory of quadratic equations and expressions, relations between roots and coefficients. Arithmetic and geometric progressions. Inequalities involving arithmetic, geometric and harmonic means. Complex numbers. Matrices and determinants.
Geometry: Plane geometry. Geometry of 2 dimensions with Cartesian and polar coordinates. Equation of a line, angle between two lines, distance from a point to a line. Concept of a Locus. Area of a triangle. Equations of circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola and equations of their tangents and normals. Mensuration.
Trigonometry: Measures of angles. Trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions. Trigonometric identities including addition formulae, solutions of trigonometric equations. Properties of triangles. Heights and distances.
Calculus: Sequences - bounded sequences, monotone sequences, limit of a sequence. Functions, one-one functions, onto functions. Limits and continuity. Derivatives and methods of differentiation. Slope of a curve. Tangents and normals. Maxima and minima. Using calculus to sketch graphs of functions. Methods of integration, definite and indefinite integrals, evaluation of area using integrals.

The test consists of 2 sections.Section A consists of 30 marks,Whereas Section B consists of 70 marks.Candidate need to score well in both the sections to clear the exam.Candidate will have 2 hours to finish each section.The ISI is of Total 100 marks.There is negative marking in ISI Exam.1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
UGB test contains 30 questions in all.For each of the 30 questions,there are 4 suggested answers.Only 1 of the suggested answers is correct.You will have to identify the correct answer in order to get full credit for that question.Indicate your choice of the correct answer by darkening the appropriate oval completely on the answersheet.
You will get:
4 marks for each correctly answered question,
0 marks for each incorrectly answered question and
1 mark for each unattempted question.

You have to give ISI Entrance exam in order to get into ISI for either BStat or BMath.The exam is held in almost all popular states Of India.It is considered as one of the toughest exams in India and quite an in depth knowledge is required to crack the exams.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Statistics is a three-year undergraduate program with a specialization in statistics and stats related principles.
The eligibility criteria is-
The minimum requirement is 10+2 with mathematics as one of the subjects with 50% marks.
The admission procedure varies from institute to institute.
Some of the institutes intake students on the basis of entrance exams conducted by their college/university.
There are colleges which provide admission on the basis of merit.

Dear aspirant,
The number of of UG students who appeared ISI exam was 217 in previous year and number of PG students who appeared this exam was around 400. The trends are usually similar every year. How many students are selected depends on cutoff and availability of seats. I hope that cleared your doubt.

Here are the details of eligibility and selection procedure for Bstat from ISI
Eligibility In order to be eligible for admission to this programme, an applicant must have successfully completed 10+2 years of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent) with Mathematics and English as subjects.
Selection Procedure All applicants for this programme, except the INMO AWARDEES (see next paragraph), will have to appear for two written tests comprising multiple-choice type and descriptive questions in Mathematics at the 10+2 level. Based on performance in the written tests, a number of candidates will be called for interviews.
The written test is waived for applicants who have been selected as INMO AWARDEES to participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) in the current year or in any previous year, based on their performance in the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (INMO) conducted by the National Board of Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Such candidates will be directly called for interviews. However, like all other candidates, such candidates are also required to apply in the prescribed application form for admission to the programme. Merely holding an INMO Certificate of Merit from Homi Bhaba Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) or clearing any Math Olympiad organised by any other organisation will not suffice for waiver of written tests for selection to the programme.
The final selection of candidates for admission to the programme is based on performance in the two written tests (unless waived) as well as the interviews. The final list of candidates selected for admission is announced after completion of all the interviews.
