Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it as general.

As per your category and percentile in CAT and after considering your academic performance you have little less chances for GIM Goa because for General category aspirants the cut-off goes around 92-94 percentile in CAT but in such percentile and academic background you have good chances to get seat in some of the B-Schools such as :-

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai

Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore

Prin. L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai

Hey guys my expected CAT percentile is quite low - from 78-83% ish. Is there any chance of me getting a call for gdpi for MICA? micat 1 went average but I know I can score around 45 in micat 2. Overall extra curriculars and acad profile is decently strong.

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 10th Dec, 2020

Hi Dear,

Yes, you will get a call from MICA if you score more than 75 percentile in CAT/XAT/GMAT and score good in MICAT. The college takes into consideration score of both the exams for final selection. The weightage for selection is as follows:

Component

Weightage percentage

MICAT Exam Score

30%

Personal Interview (PI)

30%

Group Exercise (GE)

20%

CAT/XAT/GMAT Score

20%

Total Weightage

100%

You can check the previous year cut off from link below:

I scored 10 CGPA in 10th, 88.6% aggregate in class 12th and 7.9 CGPA (75%) in Bsc Zoology. I am expecting my CAT percentile to be anywhere between 80-85. I belong to general category. Which colleges should I hope to get a call from ? Also, what are my chaces of getting into GIM, Goa and IMT,Nagpur?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 9th Dec, 2020

With this percentile, IIMs might be out of question. You might have to opt for other B-Schools. Before we give you the list of the Colleges that you can apply for, we shall give a brief of GIIM Goa and IMT Nagpur. GIM Goa has 4 programmes and each one has a different shortlisting criteria. You can check the complete process at: https://www.gim.ac.in/2019/how-to-apply.php#eligibility. But to give you a faint idea, for example, for PGDM HCM the process is as follows:

Candidates will be shortlisted based on over all profile.

There is no specific cut off

The main focus will be to admit students with profile mix

Every Candidate who is eligible and has applied for this programme and has been shortlisted will be interviewed.  So you do have fair chances for a seat in GIM, Goa.

IMT Nagpur follows slightly a different process. Their weightage is as follows:

CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT percentile

35%

Academic score of Graduation

25%

Work experience

10%

Academic Diversity

10%

Group Exercise & Personal Interview

20%

Total

100%

You need to have atleast 80 percentile and above to  be shortlisted for IMT Nagpur. Those Candidates shortlisted based on their Test score will be also called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Based on the performance in these rounds and other factors included, the final merit list is prepared. You can check that at: https://www.imtnagpur.ac.in/admissions. Now you do have fair chances in both GIM Goa and IMT Nagpur based on your profile. Apart from these 2 colleges, your other chances might be in:

IIT Kharagpur

Great Lakes

UNIPUNE

Delhi School of Economics

Fore School of Management

Nirma University

Hey, In 10th I scored 77% and In 12th I scored 66% and Now Im in graduation Can please help me that how much Ill score in graduation and What should be the minimum CAT percentile for me to get a call from IIM. General Category.

Arihant kapoor 23rd Aug, 2020

CAt is the entrance exam to get admission in top B colleges of India. The top B colleges are IIMs. Now, IIMs are most popular, so there is a huge competition to get admission in top IIMs, like IIM A, IIM B. Now, your percentile, graduation marks, class 10 and class 12 marks are also included in the process of selection in IIMs. Now, to get an interview call from top IIMs, you should get atleast 99.9 percentile in CAT exam. As the competition is much high, than this is required to get interview call.

Hope this helps.

i have 80% in 10th, 53% in 12th and 8.08 CGPA in engineering i alseo have 3 years of experience. how much CAT percentile i need to get into top B-school? does my percentage in 12th going to affect my placement?

anirudha vats 16th Sep, 2020

Hey,

To be very honest I think your academic scores are little low, so it is advisable to score as high as possible in CAT in order to increase your chances of selection into top B schools. I think a score above 95 percentile will help you to get calls from good B schools.Still will suggest you to aim as high as possible. For more clear idea you can go to the website of top B Schools and can look for their selection criteria.

All the very best .

Thank you

which is the best college under 10L fees for mba if the CAT percentile is 60%, BTech (IT) 59.8%, in 12th 68.46%, in 12th and in 10th 70%? (I wont be able to appear in CAT for second time)

Priyanka Chaudhary 11th Aug, 2020

Hello Gaurav,

As you clearly mentioned that you won't be able to appear for CAT again but we recommend you to give it a  thought again because MBA is a one time investment of your time and money which will be forever with you.

But still if you want to do it this year only , then you can go through this link below.
