I have secured 82 percent in my cbse 12th boards and 75 percentile in jee mains can i get btech in sasthra in cse ece and it depts

tanvi bansal 21st Jul, 2025

Dear Aspirant,

With 82 percentile marks in your CBSE Class 12 board exams and a 75-percentile score in JEE Mains, you have a fair chance of securing admission into SASTRA University for B.Tech, particularly under Stream 2, which is based solely on Class 12 marks. Admission into the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the Thanjavur campus is highly competitive and typically requires a board percentage above 95 percentile, so your chances for CSE in the main campus are relatively low. However, you may have a chance in the later rounds or at the Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC) in Kumbakonam. For Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which is slightly less competitive than CSE, your chances are moderate and could improve under Stream 2. Information Technology (IT) is comparatively more accessible, and your profile gives you a realistic chance of getting admission, especially in the second or third rounds of counselling. It is advisable to apply through both admission streams to improve your chances and to consider the SRC campus as well, where the cutoffs tend to be more relaxed.

i got compartment in chemistry in cbse board 2024. Can I give compartment in chemistry and improvement in mathematics in same year(2024)??

Anushree Thakare 19th Jul, 2025

No, you cannot give a compartment exam in chemistry and an improvement exam in mathematics in the same year (2024) according to CBSE rules.

If you have a compartment in chemistry, you must clear that first, and then you can appear for improvement exams in other subjects in the next year.

CBSE does not allow students to appear for both compartment and improvement exams in the same year.

Thank you!!

can I get Marks in verfication process in cbse 12 if the gap is 6 to 7 marks

Anushree Thakare 19th Jul, 2025

Yes, it's possible to have your marks increased in a CBSE 12th re-evaluation even if the difference is between 6 and 7 marks.

While smaller increases (1-5 marks) are more common, moderate increases (6-10 marks) are also seen in a decent percentage of successful revaluations.

The key is to understand that re-evaluation involves a recalculation of marks, and if there are errors in totaling, or if a question wasn't evaluated, or if there's a discrepancy in communication of marks, these can be rectified.

Thank you!!

can i get seat in iiit hyderbad with 94%percentile in jee and 66 percentage in cbse class 12

Lalit Kumar 7th Nov, 2024

Dear

According to the information with a 94 percentile in JEE Mains and 66% in CBSE Class 12, you meet the eligibility criteria for IIIT Hyderabad. The admission requirements include a minimum of 60% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) in the 12th class.

However, IIIT Hyderabad is highly competitive, and the cutoffs can vary each year based on the number of applicants and their ranks. Like Cse at 1500 and ECE at 4300.

You can use College predictor for finding the best college for you.

Thanks.

I got 84.6% in cbse science stream. Will i get admission in sme collage (2023-24 )

Shilu Singha 15th May, 2024

Hello!

The eligibility criteria for the courses differ, it would have been better if you had mentioned the course you want to study. However, the eligibility criteria for B.Sc., B. Pharma and BPT is class 12 or equivalent with Botany/Zoology, Physics, Chemistry and other optional subjects from a recognised board with 50% marks and 45% marks for reserved categories.

As you have secured 84.6% in your higher secondary examination, you are eligible for the courses mentioned above in SME College.
