Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 20th Oct, 2019

hello,

please do not make a decision of becoming a chef because you have done some cooking at home and have thinking that cooking is really enjoyable for you. its the reality that to become a professional  chef a lot of hard work and travel to do. however you can join in government or private college for hotel management course, here beside cooking you would learn how to run a hotel, food business and management system of different stages of cushion  management and how to run a restaurant or food business.  IHM is the best option for that. beside this you need to keep patient and really hard work. and this world would be really different than you b.com (//b.com) course. so please think before join.

My aim is to be a good chef after completing hotel management but my parents not intersted in this course they think that this will destroy

mansiprofessional234 Student Expert 14th Jul, 2019

Hey jatin!

I totally understand your problem . And i have seen  many students facing  the same problem after 12th because there are many parents who do not allow their children to pursue the course they want to. But note that , whatever they want you to do , they will never have a bad intention behind. All they just want for you is something good. They can never wish something for you.

The reason for not letting you apply for hotel management might be that they do not believe that you can do this course. In this case , you need to give them a proof by showing your capability . There are many top hotel management institutes which have their entrance exams , so try clearing those exams and once you clear them , just show the results to your parents.

I am sure that they will not stop you from doing HM in that case.

I got 88630 rank. Am I able to admission in vellore Or chennai campus

harsh Student Expert 12th May, 2019

Hello Shubham

As you know that competition is very high and every one wants best.

With this rank ( 88630) it will be not possible to get admission in vit Vellore or Chennai campus according to previous year cut offs .

You need to secure atleast 40-45 thousand rank ( or even better according to branch preference). So you should look for other colleges.

Good luck.

Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park

Hyde Park, New york

  • Founded in 1946 , The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is a highly regarded culinary school headquartered in Hyde Park, New York. CIA also has campuses in Napa and St. Helena, California, in San Antonio, Texas, and in Singapore.

Its status as private and not-for-profit makes CIA unique among schools that focus solely on culinary training (most are for-profit), and helps ensure that it provides a top-notch education to its students. It is the first school to offer an Associate degree program in culinary arts (1971), as well as a Bachelor degree program (1991)

CIA offers several Associate and Bachelor degree options, which allow for varying levels of specification and flexibility in choosing a career path. You could train to become a five-star head chef, a pastry chef skilled in the art of delicate, decadent sweets, or study Food Business Management and learn what it takes to run your own restaurant.

You can start from scratch, but, notably, if you have prior experience working in a professional kitchen, you may qualify to study culinary arts in their accelerated program. Another unique offering at CIA is their BPS in Culinary Science, which would prepare you for a career in research and development in the food industry.

Besides just providing a strong education, CIA works to help students with career placement and advancement. Each degree program includes a paid externship, giving students on-the-job experience as well as professional connections. Through industry leadership conferences and a large network of alumni, CIA helps its students connect with potential employers and get lined up with a career in their field.

CIA boasts numerous celebrity chef alumni, with Anthony Bourdain being perhaps their most notable example.

The Culinary Institute of America is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education (MSCHE). However, its culinary programs are not accredited by ACF.
