Actually there is no comparison possible in between a honours degree and engineering. Yes, it is only possible if the subject is same. But here you want to compare in various different types. See doing honours or engineering it should be based on your personal choice. Both have bright career if you work hard and smart. In case mathematics, Physics and chemistry honours you have various career opportunities like teaching, government jobs, research works etc. In case of Engineering you also can make your career at it's best. Cse , Aerospace engineering both are best at it's own field. Now it is upto you that which is your comfort zone. Go through your choices.

If you aspire to be a biochemical engineer, you can opt for science stream in class 11th. Physics, chem, maths are a must subject. You can get into biomedical engineering without studying biology too but i advise you to take that too in grade 11-12. Then give entrances after your 12th

In order to become an Chemical Engineer first of all, you have to earn a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. In order to do that you have to appear for All India entrance exam JEE or you can appear for state conducted Engineering entrance exams. Based on the marks you scored in the entrance, you will be able to get admission in Colleges through the counselling procedure. 10+2 Science with Physics, Chemistry, Math is mandatory for admission into the graduation program of Chemical Engineering.
Also, you can go for diploma in chemical engineering. You can pursue this course after class 10. In order to get admission in diploma colleges you have to give national or state entrance exams. After successfully completion of Diploma in chemical engineering, a student will be able to get a position of junior engineer. Further, you can pursue B.Tech and M.Tech in this field.

As you are a Chemical engineering 1st year student, you should learn programming language for upgrading your skills. Now, there are many languages in the market, like Java, Python, C++, PHP and many more. But if you are beginner in programming world I would suggest you to learn C first and then C++. When you will learn both of these language you will be able to solve basic programming questions. Then, you can go for languages like Python, Java etc.
