honestly considering scoring 31 marks is not too high though, but since you are from SC category you have still existing chances, however chances are shallow.

Civil is just so so at SRM. The overall placements are decent for Chennai campus but at the other north Indian campuses, civil placements are very low. Basically mostly the IT companies recruit SRM candidates and most of them do not allow civil nowadays. Though the performance of SRM candidates in govt. exams and off campuses is good.

Better to go for some other branch of you are planning to get into SRMCivil engineering is a type of branch that requires experience . If you are thinking of getting placed to good package just after btech than its little tough in this branch . That's why people going for civil engineering mostly prefer government jobs .

If you want to work in a good private company than you need to gain some experience of 2 to 3 years under minimum wages.

Coal India Limited (CIL) has released the job notifications for recruitment to the post of Officer/Sr.Officer. There are 358 vacancies are to be filled for this posts.Qualification required is a Degree/Diploma in Mining.So, unfortunately the vacancy is not for Civil Engineers at present.

Cut off marks for   CIL MT exam for ST it was 30 for each paper which is consist of two papers paper 1 and paper 2 and bears a total marks of 200.

As you have got 126 score and  belong to St category student you may expect  interview for for this post of management trainee in CIL.
