Hello Aspirant
To get admission to VJTI, Sardar Patel College, you have to apply for 1st year only, you cannot join the college in the middle of the academic year, even if you have a diploma. This could have been possible if you were doing a hons course and you had the option to transfer credits from your former college, But for a hons course, you have to start from 1st year.
Hope this helps

For lateral entry students in Civil Engineering, seat allotment varies across institutions.
In government colleges, around 10-20% of total seats are reserved for lateral entry students, typically 5-10 seats per branch.
In private colleges, this number can range from 20-30%, approximately 10-20 seats per branch.
Assuming a typical Civil Engineering branch has 60-120 seats, lateral entry seats would be:
- Government colleges: 6-12 seats
- Private colleges: 12-24 seats
Hope this helps,
