As per your interest you can surely choose bcom honours if you are a commerse student.
If you have passed 10+2 with subjects like mathematics economic and accountancy etc you are eligible to get admission. Generally bcom becomes relatively easy for a commerse student. Success in any stream depends on interest.

Hello Pathan,
To get admission for BCA course, you do not require to answer any kind of entrance exams like JEE. JEE is only for engineering students and not BCA students. You need to pass your class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks to qualify for getting a seat for BCA. Just focus more on your 12th state board exam.

Hello aspirant. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that there are 4 sections in BCA entrance test of IPU.
1) Computer Awareness - Computer Basics.Organisation, CPU, Structure of CPU, I/P and O/P devices, Memory and backup devices and other general computer relation questions.
2) English Language & Comprehension - Reading comprehension, Basics English grammar, sentence jumble, Sentence completion, Word Usage, Synonyms, Idioms, and Phrases, Antonym, Analogy, Homophones, Migratory Words, Phrasal Verbs.
3) General Knowledge (IT and science related) - For this it would be advisable for you to refer Internet and newspaper and keep yourself updated.
4) Mathematics - Arithmetic, Algebra, Data interpretations
You need to follow this syllabus. And don't forget that there is 4 marks for every correct answer and -1 for a wrong answer. So, attempt the paper accordingly. I hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck.
Now since you are pursuing statistics, a wise decision would be to take up data science/analysis. It is a relatively new but blooming field with pretty good packages. You may also give machine learning a shot. Machine learning uses a lot of data collection and analysis before building a model.
Hello,
As per your requirement, i would say that as mentioned above, being a commerce student you are confused between computer and accountancy so i would suggest that do what intetest you. If you are equally interested in both courses, then definitely choose what suits your interests more. Still if you are confused try to gather knowledge on future prospect of both the course, subjects needes to be learned, collegr selection, etc. Talk to someone of that branch to get a fair idea about those courses how easy or difficult for you would it be.
According to me both courses are best in its own way as jobs are plenty in both if you can be at your best as none of them is easy.
Dear Vaishnavi, for being eligible for GATE, Candidates should have completed their Graduation in Engineering/Technology or Master's in any relevant science subject. Now with BCA as an educational qualification, a candidate cannot appear for GATE. A MCA Candidate will be eligible but not BCA Graduate.
