Computer Science Engineering
Hi Priyanka,
If you successfully passed the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in May 2025, you are eligible to register to appear for CS Executive in the next available session, which will be June 2026. The CS Executive exams are conducted twice a year, in June and December, so you can plan to attempt the exams from June next year after completing the CSEET.
Hello there,
Based on your daughter's 90 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and her aspiration to pursue Computer Science Engineering (CSE) , here is an overview of potential college options: 1. National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
At a 90 percentile, securing a seat in CSE at top NITs may be challenging. However, some NITs may offer CSE or related branches depending on the category and state quota:
NIT Puducherry : Offers CSE; cutoff ranks vary annually.
NIT Goa : Offers Electronics and Communication Engineering; CSE availability depends on the year's cutoff.
NIT Raipur : Offers Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
NIT Jalandhar : Offers Instrumentation and Control Engineering; CSE cutoff may be higher.
NIT Durgapur : Offers various branches; CSE cutoff may be competitive.
NIT Meghalaya : Offers Mechanical Engineering; CSE availability varies.
Note: Admission chances improve under state quota or reserved categories. 2. Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)
Some IIITs accept candidates with 90 percentile for CSE or related branches:
IIITM Gwalior : Offers CSE; cutoff ranks vary.
IIIT Allahabad : Offers CSE; cutoff ranks vary.
Note: Admission depends on the specific year's cutoff trends. 3. Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)
Several GFTIs may offer CSE or related branches:
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur : Offers CSE.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra : Offers CSE.
North Eastern Hill University, Shillong : Offers Information Technology.
Mizoram University, Aizawl : Offers Computer Engineering.
Note: Admission chances depend on the specific year's cutoff ranks. 4. Private Universities
Private institutions often have more flexible admission criteria:
KIIT University : Offers CSE; known for good infrastructure.
Lovely Professional University (LPU) : Offers CSE; provides scholarships based on performance.
Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra : Offers CSE; admission through JEE Main scores.
Note: These institutions may have their own entrance exams or accept JEE Main scores for admission. 5. State Engineering Colleges
State-level engineering colleges may offer CSE based on JEE Main scores and state-specific counseling processes. Admission chances depend on the state's reservation policies and cutoff trends.
I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Hii,
CUET does not grant admission to the University of Hyderabad's Computer Science (CS) program. A five-year B.Tech + M.Tech program in computer science is offered by the university. You must take the JEE Main exam, not the CUET, in order to be admitted.
Additionally, you must have completed science courses in your 12th grade, including math, chemistry, and physics. Other courses, such as M.A. or M.Sc., use CUET, but not CS or engineering. Therefore, for CS, get ready for JEE Main rather than CUET.
With a 71 percentile in JEE Main and belonging to the SC category , your chances of securing admission to Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT) at the University of Mumbai are limited.
Consider applying for branches with higher closing ranks, such as Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Look into private engineering colleges in Mumbai that accept JEE Main scores and have more flexible cutoff criteria.
Participate in Maharashtra's state-level engineering entrance exams (e.g., MHT CET) for better opportunities.
For more information , you can refer to the official website: Mumbai University Admissions (https://mu.ac.in/) .
With a KCET 2025 score of 116 (approximately 64.4% ), your estimated rank would be around 6,000–7,000 .
Given your estimated rank of 6,000–7,000 , securing a seat in Computer Science Engineering at JSS Science and Technology University (formerly SJCE) Mysore may be challenging.
For more detailss, you can refer to the official website: KCET Official Site (https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/) .
With an EAMCET rank of 95,000 in the BCE (Backward Classes E) category, securing a seat in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET), Hyderabad is unlikely under the Convener (Category A) quota .
Explore other institutions where your rank might be competitive for CSE or related branches.
Ensure you participate in the counseling process to explore all available options.

HEY THERE!!
Which to Choose?
UPES is preferable if you desire better placement percentages, updated curriculum with specialisations, and greater international exposure. The highest and average packages are also slightly improved, and the university provides good industry relations and global options.
KIIT is also an excellent private university with a good reputation, good placements, and great campus life. If you like its campus culture or location, it's still a strong option.
In general, UPES has a marginal advantage in placements and industry interaction for Computer Science.
Select according to your preferences: location, charges, campus, and specializations.
