my polycet 2025 rank in mpc steam is 24478 can i get seat in this college in computer science and engineering

Afreen 26th May, 2025

It's difficult to say definitively whether you'll get a seat in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with a POLYCET rank of 24478 in the MPC stream, as it depends on the specific college and admission criteria. Generally, a rank of 24478 might be on the lower end for securing a CSE seat, but it's possible depending on the college's cutoff and the number of available seats.

To get a better understanding of your chances, consider the following:

College Cutoffs:

Check the previous years' cutoffs for the specific college you're interested in for the CSE program. This will give you an idea of the rank range required for admission.

Seat Availability:

The number of available CSE seats at the college is also a factor. If there are many seats, even with a higher rank, you might have a chance.

Category and Home State:

If you belong to a reserved category (e.g., SC, ST, OBC), you may have a higher chance of getting a seat. Home state candidates also often get priority.

College Predictors:

Utilize college admission predictors like the one mentioned in one of the search results. These predictors can help you estimate your chances of getting into specific colleges based on your rank.

Multiple College Options:

Consider applying to multiple colleges and different programs. If you don't get a seat in CSE, there might be opportunities in other related fields.

To determine your eligibility, you'll need to:

1. Confirm your rank:

Double-check your POLYCET rank to ensure it's accurate.

2. Gather information:

Research the cutoffs and seat availability for the specific colleges and programs you're interested in.

3. Utilize college predictors:

Use college predictors to estimate your chances of getting into specific colleges.

4. Apply to multiple colleges:

Consider applying to multiple colleges and programs to increase your chances of admission.

I have completed 12th grade and want to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science. Im worried my scores might not be enough for a good college. Should I take a gap year to prepare for the entrance exam, or should I enroll in any college that accepts me and focus on postgraduate entrance exams?

kumardurgesh1802 25th May, 2025

Hello there,

Here are some points to consider when deciding between taking a gap year or enrolling directly in a college:

  • Taking a gap year to prepare for entrance exams (like JEE Main, state-level exams) can improve your chances of getting admission to a better B.Tech college. Better colleges often offer stronger faculty, resources, and placement opportunities.

  • However, a gap year requires strong self-discipline and focused preparation. If you are confident about improving your rank significantly, this can be a good option.

  • Enrolling in a college that accepts your current scores allows you to start your engineering studies immediately and gain practical experience. You can always prepare for postgraduate exams (like GATE) later to get admission into reputed M.Tech programs.

  • Consider your personal learning style, motivation, and career goals. Starting college now can avoid losing an academic year, but joining a better college after a gap year can offer better opportunities in the long run.

  • Also, explore scholarships, coaching, or mentorship options to improve your preparation if you choose the gap year.

In summary, if you believe you can improve your scores with dedicated preparation, a gap year can be worthwhile. Otherwise, starting college now and focusing on future postgraduate opportunities is a practical choice.

Bsc computer science fees structure

Nikita shahi 9th Aug, 2025

Hi! The fees for a B.Sc Computer Science course depends on whether you choose a government, government-aided, or private college. On average:

Government colleges: 15,000 – 30,000 per year.

Government-aided colleges: 25,000 – 50,000 per year.

Private colleges: 50,000 – 1,50,000 per year.

The total duration is 3 years, so your total cost will be 3x the annual fees. Private universities may charge higher but offer more facilities like modern labs, campus recruitment training, and internships.

You should also budget for exam fees, lab charges, and books.

Thank you,

My budget is 1 lakh total tution fees i want to do engeenering computer science in artificial intelligence and machine learning without any entrance exam it is possible

Poludasari Akhila 8th Aug, 2025

Hii shaibidar,You want to study Engineering in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence in Karnataka( I come to know about your State from your profile)on a total tuition fee budget of rupees 1lakh.

1. One lakh fee is very less for AI engineering in Karnataka.

2. AI engineering fees are usually more than 4 lakh.

3. Government colleges fees are around 4 to 5 lakh.

4. Private colleges fees are more than government.

5. No AI engineering course available for one lakh total fee now.

6. You can try B.Sc AI course. It is cheaper and related to AI.

Suggestion: If you have a tight rupees 1 lakh budget, look into B.Sc in AI/ML programs in Karnataka, especially the newly launched courses at Sharnabasva University:they offer tech education at much lower cost than engineering degrees.

in MET score of 110 out of 240, CBSE Class 12 76% implies what rank. Can I get Computer in Manipal or Bangalore or Jaipur

kumardurgesh1802 25th May, 2025

Hello Amresh,

A MET score of 110 out of 240 with 76% in CBSE Class 12 generally suggests a moderate rank, roughly around the mid to lower range depending on the competition that year.

Regarding admission to Computer Science in Manipal, Bangalore, or Jaipur campuses:

  • Manipal Institute of Technology (Manipal campus) usually requires a higher MET rank for Computer Science due to high demand. A score of 110 may not guarantee a seat in Computer Science at Manipal’s main campus.

  • Manipal Bangalore and Jaipur campuses may have slightly lower cutoffs, so you might have a chance depending on seat availability and category.

  • Admission depends on overall MET rank and category cutoff for that year, which varies.

You should check the latest seat allotment lists or counseling results from Manipal University for exact chances, but with a score of 110, getting Computer Science in Manipal’s main campus may be difficult, while chances at Bangalore or Jaipur campuses are comparatively better but not guaranteed.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

im get 49.5% so im eligible for b tec computer science and in OBC

Ankur Mehta 3rd Sep, 2025

Hey Gobinda! With 49.5% in Class 12 and being from the OBC category, you still have a chance for B.Tech (including Computer Science). Most colleges ask for around 50–60% for General, but for OBC there is usually some relaxation (around 45–50%). Since you are in that range, you can definitely try.

Just make sure you had PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) in Class 12, because that’s compulsory for B.Tech. Some universities admit on board marks, while others through entrance exams like JEE Main or state-level tests. Private universities are also an option if you don’t want to depend fully on entrance exams.

So yes, you are eligible, but it will depend on the college/university you apply to. Best option is to check their specific eligibility on the official website before applying.

7211vrank in kcet which college I will get in computer science

kumardurgesh1802 24th May, 2025

Hello Mamata,

With a KCET rank of 7211 in Computer Science, admission to top government engineering colleges in Karnataka is unlikely, as the cutoff ranks for Computer Science are generally much lower (better ranks).

However, you may get admission in private or deemed universities that offer Computer Science programs. Some private colleges in Karnataka accept ranks in this range.

To improve your chances, participate in all counseling rounds and consider other related branches or private institutions.

I would recommend you to use KCET College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
