I have completed my 12th with 89.6% and want to pursue ballb (corporate law) and I have not given any entrance exam . please suggest my best private colleges with good placement and accepts students without any entrance exam

Sohamsengupta8 5th Jul, 2020

Hello student,

Actually there are lots of private institutes which gives direct admission to the students without any entrance examination but I think that many of those are below standard, I mean the placement rate is not good In those colleges. So so I suggest you to go to some private institute which conduct their own entrance examination similar to clat.

Here is a list of colleges without any entrance examination

  • Jindal global law school
  • symbiosis law school
  • MIT law school Delhi
  • nirma university Ahmedabad etc

I Would like to know which is better, IFIM or Kochi Nuals, for 5 year BBA Llb course.Im looking to go for Corporate Law

Sk Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

They both don’t figure in the top 20 Law schools in India under the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF).  Now we need to use other methods of assessment. If you look at the faculty of both we find that NUALS have more experienced teachers.

Our suggestion is that you weigh this aspect and decide as Law is one area where experience counts. Since you want to specialize in Corporate Law, find out the expertise in this domain.

Good Luck

Hi student,

If you want to work in Corporate and Business firms and want to work as a corporate lawyer then BBA LLB is the best-suited course for you. You can go for BA LLB or B.com LLB, if you simply want to do law and want to work as a legal advisor.

I have decided to purse law and going to give exams for NLUs, so i wanted to ask that will my 12th marksheet going to be important later on for getting a job in a good corporate law firm?

Smeet Almeida 16th May, 2020

Greetings, aspirant!

Your 12th std marksheet is not going to make any significant difference in your future career prospects. Your admission will be based more on your entrance tests. However, colleges often have a basic eligibility criteria regarding your 10+2 percentage score.

And of course, it never hurts to have a good scorecard. It goes on to show your dedication and sincerity to your responsibilities when you might apply for a job or such.

So my suggestion would be that you focus on your entrance tests more; but do not neglect your 12th std score as you never know when it might come in handy.

Hope this information helped you.

Best of luck!!

Sir, to get specialization in Corporate Law, BA LLB (Integrated) is ok or should have BBA LLB, BCom LLB...??

Parvathi Ramachandran 28th Dec, 2019

Greetings !

BBA LLB is a 5 year Integrated Law course which will combine and undergraduate degree of BBA along with Law. So normally it would take you 6 years to complete such a course- 3 years for BBA and 3 years for Law but here it is an integrated course completed im 5 years. Similarly in case of BCOM LLB you combine a BCOM degree with Law and complete it in 5 years.

While choosing between the two you should know that the career opportunities offered by both the courses do not vary much. A BCOM LLB graduate will not have any edge above a BBA LLb graduate and vice a versa. The only different that the two course make is that you specialize in any filed of law such as Corporate Laws and in the other taxation law. If you're sure that you want to pursue a career in that particular direction, then you can choose the course accordingly.  Though corporate law will include specialization in company law, business law and other such subjects. Whereas in taxation laws it will be related to tax,  Income tax, Direct, Indirect taxes and more.

In case you plan to go intoLitigation/Judicial Services/Civil or Law services examsthe choice of course will not matter. In case you decide to pursue in a Corporate field ,the chances still remain the same, practically. BCOM graduates have equal opportunities like a BBA graduate or even BA graduates. The placements for both are similar. It matters more on the internships, moots, research papers more than the choice of course. So you can even pursue BA LLB while being interested in corporate law. As the colleges like NLU delhi, NLS Bangalore with the highest and best placements in corporate offer only BA LLB.It is just that, in practical terms, a BBA/BCOM  graduate with specialisation will still have a better understanding and foundation of their respective  concept.Hence, while deciding between the two you should look at what subjects you are interested it and pursue that course as it will make your entire course more fruitful. Also, make sure that you consider the plans that you have in mind for the future, which can help yoi decide which course you would want to opt. Even though the choice between the two will not cause any huge difference in your career opportunities, but it can help you in specialization and more.

Wish You Good Luck !!
