I want to do software job after my engineering but Im confused in choosing a college . A good top college like NMAMIT but lower branch like EEE or a Normal college like Sahyadri college of engineering with trending branch like CS in AIML ? NMAMIT college said to me you know do software courses and get into IT field after EEE . Which one to choose in this ?

Aryan 8th Jul, 2025

Hi dear candidate,

Either of the options are good, one provides you the skills that are trending in the IT industry and one provides you strong foundation in EEE.

NMAMIT (EEE) is a reputed institution with good potential for jobs in PSUs.

Sahyadri (CSE or AI/ML) provides you the degree with ongoing market trend that also provides much exposure to good placements that are high in demand.

You may look for Sahyadri College with CSE as you should consider it's post benefits as per the trends of market if a reputed college does not matter to you.

At the end, everything matters on your interest so you may look at any of them from our side you may look for CSE in Sahyadri.

HOPE THIS HELPS...

EEE in NMAMIT, nitte or CS in AIML in Sahyadri college of engineering, mangalore Which one to choose?

gopi 5th Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

If you are in a position of choosing EEE at NMAMIT, Nitte or CSE (AI & ML) at Sahyadri College, Mangalore, then I present the following comparison:

  • NMAMIT (EEE): NMAMIT has a strong reputation among engineering colleges, NAAC A accreditation, good infrastructure and facilities, and an alumni network that is well established. EEE through NMAMIT has a sturdy base in core engineering, and offers entry points in both the government and private industries but competition for placements can be tougher.
  • Sahyadri (CSE in AIML): Sahyadri offers an upcoming and in-demand specialization/stream, which means placement opportunities are increasing broadly, especially in tech industries. Sahyadri College is also becoming well known; yet, it is a much newer engineering college than NMAMIT, so it does not have legacy status established.

If you want a career in tech, coding or with AI, I recommend opting for CSE in AI and ML at Sahyadri. If you intend to follow core engineering pathways better and more established through reputation, I suggest EEE at NMAMIT.

B.sc. (CS) at JIIT NOIDA-62 VERSUS B.Tech. (CS), which is better. Please suggest.

Prachi Kumari 8th Jul, 2025

Hello,

B.Tech (CS) is generally considered better than B.Sc. (CS) if you want to make a strong career in engineering or tech fields. It has a more in-depth syllabus, better job scope, and is more valued by companies.

However, if you are getting B.Sc. (CS) from JIIT Noida-62 and don’t have a good B.Tech option, you can go for it. JIIT has good faculty and placements.

But if you have a chance to do B.Tech (CS) from a decent college, go for B.Tech. It offers better growth in the long run.

Hope it helps !

With 86% in Mht Cet Pcm group, any chances to get KJ Somaiya in cap rounds for cs and interdisciplinaries?

gopi 2nd Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

With your MHT CET score of 86% (PCM group), your potential admission into KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology (KJSIEIT) or KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE) during the CAP rounds will depend upon the cut-off trends from previous years. For computer science and interdisciplinary branches (IT, AI/DS, etc.), the cutoffs tend to be high for open category students. Here is a rough guide.

  • KJSCE (Autonomous) Vidyavihar Campus: CSE and allied branches tend to close around 99-97 percentile especially for general/open category.
  • KJSIEIT Sion Campus: Your chances may be better here. Interdisciplinary branches like Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, or Cyber Security may go down to 85-90 percentile, especially in later CAP rounds or for reserved categories.
