Yes it is mandatory to qualify in EAMCET and get a rank to get an admission in GRRIT, if you are looking for a seat in management quota it is not mandatory to get qualified in the Eamcet.

Looking at the previous year trends we can say that you have a good chance of getting CSE in Coimbatore campus if you believe to the Tamilnadu quota.
The cutoff for AIQ is usually around 3 K in Coimbatore campus hence it might be slightly difficult to get into Coimbatore via AIQ.
