Can I get admission in dental college with 71.4 percent in cbse

Anmol Bhargava 5th Jun, 2018

Hello!

Admission for Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) is done on the basis of rank in National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). The basic criteria to appear for the exam is passing 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate (for open category) and the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Since you have scored over 50%, you are eligible for admission but it will be done on basis of your rank in NEET.

According your score the chances are less to get a seat under All India quota seats  and state quota cutoff varies state to state.

i have scored 358 marks in neet 2018. can i get admission in govt college in mbbs or in bds?

manisha.gupta 25th May, 2018

The cutoff varies year to year so it would be tough to tell you the exactly.  According your score you have less chance to get a seat under 15% quota seats for MBBS & BDS and state quota seats cutoff varies state to state.

After BDS can I study ancology in dentistry? plz tell briefly. After BDS which courses suggestable

sreenath roy 24th May, 2018

Hey there,

As far as I know, you can pursue fellowship in head and neck oncology in Tata memorial hospital, Mumbai after completion of Post graduation in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

I don’t think you can undergo major course in oncology after completion of BDS. After bds you need to Mds in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Then either work under mch onco or join fellow ships such as offered by Aomsi.

Thank you

I got 410/720 meet 2018.would i geta BDS seat through in counselling in better college in all india quota or i get seat telangana state

hari krishna 11th May, 2018
Hi

It's different for different quota applied

If you are applying through 15%All India quota under general category for govt dental college, the cut off for neet-2017 was around 5500 rank which leads to approximate score of 520/720

However you can try through 85% state quota in domicle State ,mostly possible

I would the demand for BDS seat is now a days intimidated,so there are possibly many chances getting a seat with your score in your desired location.

What scope is there for a gen. category candidate of rajasthan who scored 403/720 in neet 2018 ?

hari krishna 11th May, 2018
Hi Sanjay
Don't worry there are plenty of chances in getting a seat for general category students especially in Rajasthan.

You should be qualified enough i.e basic score in Neet 2018 and you can avail your seat in your desired college through counselling sessions.

In Udaipur, Rajasthan there are plenty of colleges such as Geetanjali Dental & Research institute, pacific dental college,RR dental college,Darshan dental college etc.you can opt either any of them as they are reputed enough.

All the best..!!

What is the starting salary of dentist

Sona 11th May, 2018
Hey. Its not that a fresher dentist cannot earn in India, dentists can earn very well in any part of the world but it all depends on your skill and confidence, its true that hospitals don't pay that much to dentists but you can also open up your own practice, and I have seen people earning 60-70k per month just from private practice. You can apply for government jobs like in National health mission where one can easily earn 30-40K without much headache. You can also go for contractual jobs in government hospitals which pays a pretty decent salary. Hope this helps. All the best
