Hello sir /mem what is resident doctor. How we become a resident doctor How we become a senior resident doctor Or it is compulsory to become a resident doctor . If I am pursuing my pg mdms course then after 3 year it is compulsory to become resident doctor or reside in hospital

Mitali Sharma 5th Mar, 2025

Hello

A resident doctor is a medical graduate (MBBS) who is undergoing postgraduate training (MD/MS or DNB) in a hospital .

Here’s a breakdown :

To Become a Resident Doctor

After completing MBBS, doctors must clear the NEET-PG exam to get admission into a PG program (MD/MS/DNB).

Once admitted , they work in a hospital as junior resident doctors while pursuing their specialization.

Senior Resident Doctor

After completing MD/MS (3 years) , a doctor can apply for a senior resident position in government or private hospitals.

Some may also pursue super-specialization (DM/MCh).

Compulsory to become a Resident Doctor

Yes , if you are doing MD/MS , you will be a junior resident during the course.

After completing MD/MS , working as a senior resident is optional but recommended for experience.

PG students have to stay in the hospital

Most medical colleges require PG students to stay on campus or be available for emergency duties .

Residency is an essential part of postgraduate medical training .

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.

will delhi university accept a character certificate signed by a doctor because i have a two year of gap after 12th?

vinayak kansal 18th Jan, 2025

For admission to Delhi University (DU), a recent character certificate is typically required, especially for students with a gap after completing their 12th grade. This certificate is generally valid for six months.

Regarding a character certificate signed by a doctor, it's important to note that not all professionals are recognized as authorities for issuing such certificates for university admissions. Delhi University typically requires the certificate to be issued by your previous educational institution or a recognized authority like a gazetted officer. Therefore, a certificate signed by a doctor may not be accepted unless the doctor holds a position as a Gazetted officer.

Hi after 12th I am giving neet exam but I dont want to be a doctor. I am thinking of forensic science or biotechnology or microbiology but I cant decide so can you list its pros and cons and also recommend me good colleges.

Tanya Gupta 13th Jan, 2025

Forensic Science offers a dynamic career in crime investigation, with opportunities in government and private sectors, but it may have limited job openings. Biotechnology is research-focused, providing roles in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and healthcare, though advanced degrees are often needed for higher positions. Microbiology explores microorganisms, offering careers in healthcare, food industries, and research, but can involve repetitive lab work. Top colleges include AIIMS, Delhi University, and Amity University for Forensic Science; IITs, IISERs, and VIT for Biotechnology; and St. Xavier’s and JSS Academy for Microbiology. Choose based on your interest in research, lab work, or real-world applications for better career satisfaction.

Please help me ? in studys? I selected 11 class bipece I have doctor cource please help me

kumardurgesh1802 25th Dec, 2024

Hello Dalma,

Choosing Bi.P.C. (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) in 11th class with a goal to become a doctor is a great choice. Here’s a guide to help you prepare effectively and succeed in your studies:

Study Tips for Bi.P.C.

  1. Understand Concepts, Not Just Facts: Focus on understanding the underlying concepts in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry rather than rote memorization. Use diagrams and real-life examples to grasp difficult topics.

  2. Regular Revision: Revise regularly, especially Biology terms and chemical reactions. Create a timetable to revisit each subject weekly.

  3. Practice Diagrams: Medical courses require a lot of diagram practice. Draw biological structures and chemical bonds frequently to retain them better.

  4. Solve Previous Papers: Practice previous question papers and sample tests, especially if you plan to write entrance exams like NEET.

  5. Time Management: Allocate dedicated hours daily for each subject, giving more time to subjects or topics that challenge you the most.

  6. Healthy Routine: Maintain a healthy study-life balance. Eat well, exercise lightly, and ensure proper sleep to stay mentally sharp.

Doctor Pathway (MBBS or Allied Medical Courses)

  • Entrance Exams: Prepare for exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) as it’s mandatory for most medical courses in India. Use NEET-specific study material and practice with mock tests.

  • Join Coaching if Needed: If you need more support, consider joining a coaching institute for NEET preparation or use online resources.

  • Stay Motivated: Keep your goal of becoming a doctor in mind. Stay focused, seek support from teachers, and ask questions whenever in doubt.

    Resources

  • Textbooks: NCERT books for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry are a must-read.

  • Online Platforms: Use online tutorials or educational apps that offer interactive learning for complex subjects.

  • Study Groups: Form or join study groups to share knowledge and solve doubts collaboratively.

Stay disciplined, consistent, and seek guidance whenever you face challenges. With determination and hard work, you can achieve your dream of becoming a doctor!

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
