Abhilasha Agrawal 5th Aug, 2025

With a JKCET 2025 rank of 550, you have a decent chance of getting a seat in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering at Government College of Engineering and Technology, Ganderbal, especially in later rounds of counselling.

Cutoffs for core branches like Civil and Electrical at GCET Ganderbal usually extend up to 600-700 rank in JKCET for the open category, but competition may vary each year.

I got 357 mark in scheme with plus two in 2025 so which college that I could prefer for electrical engineering and also I didnt practiced or attended anymore competitive exams in my life

Nikita shahi 20th Aug, 2025

Since you have not given competitive exams like JEE, your admission will depend on direct admission / state-level counselling based on Plus Two marks. With 357 marks, you can consider:

1. State Government Engineering Colleges if your state allows admission based on 12th marks for some seats.

2. Reputed Private Universities, such as:

  • Lovely Professional University (Punjab)
  • SRM University (Tamil Nadu)
  • VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) – though they have their own entrance test, some seats are via management quota.
  • Amity University
  • Manipal University

3. Colleges under your state technical university that allow direct entry for engineering streams.

All the best!

Wireman iti kare polytechnic electrical main admission le sakte hai

Poludasari Akhila 3rd Jul, 2025

Yes, if you have done Wireman ITI, you can get admission in Polytechnic Electrical Engineering through lateral entry. This means you can join directly in the second year of the diploma course. Many states in India allow ITI students to enter diploma programs this way. It helps save one year and gives you better technical education for future jobs. You should have a valid ITI certificate from a recognized institute to apply. For admission, you may need to give an entrance test like JEECUP in Uttar Pradesh or other entrance exams held by your state. After the exam, you need to attend counselling where you can choose your college and branch. The seats for ITI students are usually reserved under a separate quota.
