what is emf equation of DC generator

Aditi More 12th Jul, 2021

Hey,

Below is the EMF equation of DC generator

Eg = PΦNZ / 60A

For simplex lap winding, number of parallel paths is equal to the number of poles (i.e. A=P),
Therefore, for simplex lap wound dc generator, Eg = PΦNZ / 60P

For simplex wave winding, number of parallel paths is equal to 2 (i.e P=2),
Therefore, for simplex wave wound dc generator, Eg = PΦNZ / 120

I hope this helps

what is DC generator and what is AC generator

Anushri Varshney 11th Jul, 2021

Hi, lucky,

A clear difference is knowing whether the line in the graph is straight or sinusoidal. If the graph shows a straight line then it is a Direct current generator if it looks like a sinusoidal wave then alternating current graph.

In an AC generator, the current flow is fixed and the magnet moves. The two backup generators are applied for different processes. The south and north poles of a magnet are responsible for the current flow direction. No doubt, there are many advantages of these 2 generators.

  • Cost-effective
  • Perfect for small and electrical appliances in offices
  • Lower maintaining cost
  • Simple design
  • Smooth voltage

An individual can easily convert a three-phase Ac generator to a single-phase AC.

It is a very big and interesting topic. So, proper detail is a must!!

Thanks!!
