How to calculate cutoff in diploma course

Samriddha Pal 25th May, 2025

Hello,

To understand the cutoff, go through the previous year trends of your desired college. The previous year cutoffs can give you an idea. So, go through the college website carefully and you may consider asking any existing student who can tell you about the previous year cutoffs. And to calculate your own marks, go through the eligibility criteria section of your desired institution.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Hi..I have a 79 in met and 89% in boards cbse ..can u plz predict my met rank..is there a chance of getting ec in manipal main campus

kumardurgesh1802 25th May, 2025

Hello Niveditha,

With a MET score of 79 and 89% in CBSE board exams, your predicted MET rank is likely to be above 40,000 .

For admission to Electronics and Communication (EC) at the Manipal Main Campus , previous trends suggest that the closing rank is usually within 10,000 to 20,000 .

So, with your current score, getting EC at the main campus is unlikely through the general counseling rounds. However, you may:

  • Wait for spot rounds where cutoffs sometimes drop.

  • Consider MIT Bengaluru or other campuses under Manipal group that have relatively lower cutoffs.

  • Reappear for the next MET attempt if eligible, as a better score can improve your chances.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

for 34k rank in which college do i get seat in pharmacy D

Nikita shahi 3rd Aug, 2025

Hello,

With a 34,000 rank , your chances of getting into Pharm.D will mostly depend on:your category/reservation (General, OBC, SC/ST),your local region and seat availability in that counselling phase

You can use this tool to predict your college: https://pharmacy.careers360.com/college-predictor

I’d suggest you participate actively in counselling, don’t miss any rounds, and also keep backup options like B.Pharm if you want to stay in the pharma field.

Hope you get a good college! Thanks for your question and best wishes

if i got 70000 sc category rank and 800000 in crl rank can i get any government college in delhi with josa or jac counsiling

kumardurgesh1802 20th May, 2025

Hello there,

With a SC category rank of 70,000 and a Common Rank List (CRL) rank of 800,000 in JEE Main 2025, securing admission to a government engineering college in Delhi through JoSAA or JAC Delhi counselling is highly unlikely.

Understanding the Cutoffs

JoSAA Counselling (NIT Delhi):

  • Previous Year SC Category Closing Ranks: For NIT Delhi, the closing ranks for SC category candidates under the Home State quota ranged approximately between 91,696 and 217,129 .

  • Your Position: Your SC rank of 70,000 is significantly higher (i.e., worse) than the closing ranks from previous years, making admission through JoSAA counselling improbable.

JAC Delhi Counselling (DTU, NSUT, IIIT-D, IGDTUW, DSEU):

  • Previous Year SC Category Closing Ranks: For institutions like DTU and NSUT, the closing ranks for SC category candidates were well below 10,000 .

  • Your Position: With a SC rank of 70,000, securing a seat in these institutions through JAC Delhi counselling is highly unlikely.

    Alternative Options

Given the competitive nature of admissions and your current ranks, consider the following alternatives:

  1. State-Level Counselling: Explore engineering colleges in other states where the cutoff ranks might be more accommodating.

  2. Private Engineering Colleges: Consider reputed private institutions that accept JEE Main scores and may have more flexible admission criteria.

  3. Other Entrance Exams: Look into other engineering entrance exams that are still open for applications or have different eligibility criteria.

  4. Diploma to Degree Programs: Enroll in a diploma program with the option to transition to a degree course later, depending on performance.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

If i get 70% in diploma? Then can i get a admission in b.e for electronic and telecommunication

Akansha Sharma 7th May, 2025

Yes, you can get admission in B.E. (Electronics and Telecommunication) after scoring 70% in diploma. Here's a simple explanation in points:

1. Eligibility: Most colleges accept diploma holders with 60% or more marks for lateral entry into the 2nd year of B.E/B.Tech.

2. Lateral Entry Scheme: You can join directly in the 2nd year of B.E through lateral entry.

3. Entrance Exams: Some states/colleges may require you to clear an entrance exam like LEET or state-level tests.

. 70% is Good: A 70% score is considered decent and makes you eligible for many good colleges.

5. Apply on Time: Keep track of admission dates and required documents.

If i get 70% in diploma? Then can i get a admission in b.e for electronic and telecommunication

Rajeswari Dey 3rd May, 2025

Hi aspirant,

Based on your graduation, you have a good probability of being admitted to a B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunications via lateral entry. Most engineering institutes in India enable diploma holders to enter the second year of their B.E./B.Tech program through lateral entry. The standard eligibility condition is passing a diploma in the relevant discipline of engineering with a minimal percentage, which is usually between 50 and 60%. Since you have obtained 70%, you will easily meet this percentage criterion in most universities. However, admission may also be determined by the specific college's standards, entrance tests (if any, held at the state or university level for lateral entry), and seat availability. Check the admission policies of the colleges you're interested in.

All the best!

If i get 70% in diploma? Then can i get a admission in b.e for electronic and telecommunication

Gregary mathew K.B 5th May, 2025

if you have completed your diploma in engineering and secured 70% marks , you can generally apply for admission to a B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) in Electronics and Telecommunication through Lateral Entry .

Key points about Lateral Entry :

  1. Eligibility Criteria :

    • You should have completed your diploma in engineering (in a related branch like Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunication).

    • Many universities or institutions require at least a 60-70% score in your diploma to be eligible for Lateral Entry admission.

  2. Admission Process :

    • Direct Lateral Entry Admission : You can join directly into the second year (3rd semester) of the B.E. program.

    • Entrance Exams : Some colleges might conduct their own entrance exams or accept scores from state-level or national-level exams for lateral entry, such as LEET (Lateral Entry Entrance Test) or the JEE Mains exam.

    • Eligibility and Application : Check the specific eligibility criteria of the colleges or universities you are interested in, as requirements might vary slightly. Also, you would need to submit the relevant documents during the application process.

Important:

  • Colleges and Universities : Make sure the college you are applying to offers Lateral Entry for your desired branch (Electronics and Telecommunication).

  • Specific Requirements : Some colleges may require you to have a diploma in a related discipline (such as Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunication).
