Scoring 325 in CUET for BA (Hons) Economics at DTU is a competitive score. DTU considers CUET scores for admissions under Delhi University norms. As a non-Delhi resident in the EWS category, your chances depend on the closing ranks and category cut-offs for the year. You may have a fair chance but keep backup options open. Regarding the hostel, DTU does offer hostel facilities to outstation students based on availability and merit. Make sure you apply for hostel accommodation during the admission process itself.
First, make sure the university or college where you want to study offers a PhD in English. You can check the official website or contact their English department.
Second, most colleges require you to appear for a PhD entrance exam. Some universities conduct their own exam, and others accept national-level exams like UGC NET. If you have already cleared UGC NET (especially with JRF), you may not need to take the entrance test.
Third, if you qualify in the exam, you will be called for an interview. In the interview, you may be asked about your research interest, academic background, and why you want to do a PhD.
Fourth, you will need to submit a research proposal. This is a short document explaining what topic you want to study during your PhD, why it is important, and how you will study it.
Once you clear all these steps, you will be offered admission and can begin your PhD.
Based on your CUET scores 88 percentile in GAT and 77 percentile in English you may have a moderate chance of securing admission into certain Integrated M.A. programs offered by Central Universities, depending on the course and category you belong to.
At the University of Hyderabad (UoH), Integrated M.A. courses are offered in Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, and Anthropology. For general category students, the previous year’s cutoffs were typically above 90 percentile in GAT and 85–90 percentile in English, especially for Economics and Political Science.
However, courses like Anthropology, History, or Sociology may have relatively lower cutoffs, and with your scores, you might be considered under waiting lists or in later counselling rounds. If you belong to a reserved category (OBC/SC/ST/EWS), your chances improve significantly.
You can also consider applying to other central universities that offer Integrated M.A. programs with slightly lower cutoff trends, such as:
Central University of Karnataka (CUK) – M.A. in English, Political Science, History
Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) – M.A. in Economics
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow – Multiple humanities courses
Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar
Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) – M.A. in Development Studies, Economics, etc.
Make sure to review the previous year’s cutoffs and seat matrix of each university before applying.
Hi,
With a Chemistry score of 88.6, Physics 77.8, and English 57, you have decent marks for applying to B.Sc. Chemistry. But when it comes to getting admission in the University of Hyderabad, it's not just about class 12 board marks you have to give the CUET UG exam. The university will check your CUET subject scores, especially the domain subjects like Chemistry and Physics. English may also be considered, depending on the subject combination and university criteria. The University of Hyderabad is quite competitive, even though it’s known more for PG courses, its UG science courses attract many students, and the cutoffs can go high, especially for B.Sc. Chemistry. Since you haven’t mentioned your CUET score, it’s difficult to say with certainty. But based on your board marks, if your CUET Chemistry and Physics scores are equally strong, you might have a strong base in these subjects.
But also remember these things;
Every year, the cutoff changes depending on the number of seats, category, and the overall difficulty level of the exam.
