Aditi amrendra Student Expert 29th Mar, 2021
Hello,

CAT exam is conducted for admission in MBA colleges. The medium of the CAT paper is only English, you cannot get CAT questions in any other language other than English. If your English is weak then I can recommend you some tips to strengthen you English. You have plenty of time left so you can work on it. Read newspaper daily, practice reading comprehension daily, when you read newspaper jot down the new words that you have read and write down their meaning and memorize them.Learn rules of grammar online or offline. All this will help you in strengthening your English for CAT.

I hope this helps.

I have uploaded my state category certificate (i.e., in kannada language) in jee mains 2021.Is it OK or the certificate must be in English language?

Anurag Khanna 29th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

First of all it does not matter whether you upload central caste certificate or state caste certificate but the certificate which you have to upload should of similar format as available on the official website of JOSAA and if considering about language of caste certificate so there is no any point in the information brochure regarding the language of caste certificate so it would not create any problem.

If the certificate is not of similar format as available on the official website of JOSAA then you can submit the undertaking which declares that you will submit the original and valid caste certificate later on at the time of admission. You can download the undertaking from the official portal of NTA, for which link is also given below :-

https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/File/GetFile?FileId=5&LangId=P

When you visit on the above link you will find a PDF and on page no.9 there is undertaking format which you have to download and after filling it you have to upload it on the place of category certificate in the JEE-Main 2021 Application form and as correction window is active no so do it by January 30th.

Some insights of JEE-Main 2021 :-

> To qualify for JEE Mains, there is no minimum aggregate percentage criteria and also if you want to take admission into NITs, IIITs or CFTIs then you should pass in your class 12th. Because as per the latest announcement made by our Hon'ble Education minister Mr.Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, the 75% criteria has been removed for upcoming year 2021-22.

> Also from this year according to New Education Policy the JEE-Main examination will be conducted in English, Hindi and other regional languages such as Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia and Malayalam.

> In JEE-Main 2021 there will be total 90 question out of which you have to attempt only 75 (25 from each section) and there will be two sections for each subject, Section-A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)(20 compulsory questions) and Section-B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value (10 numerical based questions out of which only 5 are compulsory to be attempted).

> In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.

> All question will be of 4 marks and in MCQs there will be negative marking of (-1) on incorrect attempt.

This year JEE-Main is being conducted with slight changes in it's pattern and it's conduction and you can check out all the changes from the link given below :-

Sir/Maam, How can I improve in English language passage ?

chinchujoseph1993 25th Jan, 2021

Hello,

I hope you meant to ask how you can improve written english.

For this you will have to start by understanding and learning the basics of the language like the grammar and improve your vocabulary. There are many online tutorials that will teach you the basics of the language. Also try to learn a new word everyday. Next you can start reading books and other written articles like newspaper, magazines, etc. Doing this you will be able to understand different writing styles and learn many new words. Also Watch news in English and other english programs like shows, movies, skits, etc.

Then START WRITING. At first it may not be that great but with time you will improve. Share it with friends or family who can give you feedback and take it on a positive note and improve on the places where you have gone wrong.

Following these I am sure you will be able to do better

Good Luck

in jee mains 2021 , Is it necessary to submit EWS form in English language? Can I submit EWS form in my mother language? Because lawer said that validity of EWS form in mother language (gujarati) is 3 years and in English it is only for 2 months. So plz help me what to do?

Anurag Khanna 3rd Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See the EWS certificate which you have to upload in JEE-Main 2021 application form should be issued by the competent authorities and you name should be in the central list of EWS reservation beneficiaries and also in the information brochure of JEE-Main there is nothing mentioned about the language of caste certificate so if it would be in Hindi or English then it would be much better and as you have mentioned the validity of caste certificate so let me make you clear that any kind of EWS certificate either it has been issued on state level or central level it is valid for only one year from the date of issue. So if your certificate is certified by the competent authorities as mentioned in the information brochure of JEE-Main 2021 then it will be applicable and then the language of certificate does not matter . Suppose if you don't have your certificate right now then you can apply for it and can submit the undertaking in the section of caste certificate. The Undertaking can be downloaded from the official website of NTA, for your reference I have mentioned the link below :-

https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/File/GetFile?FileId=5&LangId=P

When you will go through the above mentioned link, it will open a PDF and on Page No. 9 you will find the undertaking, from there you can download it.

For complete details about JEE-Main 2021 Application form kindly check out the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/how-to-fill-jee-main-application-form

Note that the photographs or images which you will be uploading for JEE-Main 2021 should be as same as the criteria set by NTA which are enlisted below as per the official information brochure released by NTA :-

> The recent photograph should be either in colour or black/white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.

> File size for candidate’s photograph should be in the range of 10 kb - 200 kb. File size for candidate’s signature should be in the range of 4kb - 30kb.

> File size for duly verified result awaited attestation form should be in the range of 50kb - 500kb.

> File size for category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) should be in the range of 50kb to 300KB.

> File size for PwD certificate should be in the range of 50kb - 300kb in jpg/jpeg format.

Some insights of JEE-Main 2021 :-

> To qualify for JEE Mains, there is no minimum aggregate percentage criteria but yes if you want to take admission into NITs, IIITs or CFTIs then you should score a minimum aggregate of 75% in your class 12th if you belongs to General/Unreserved category and 65% if you belongs to any of the reserved category.
