Similarly, the Ph.D. English test will be divided into two parts. Part A is made up of 50 questions that are based on research methodology and include English, general knowledge, and numerical ability. pdwords Student Expert 12th Jul, 2021

Hello,

I presume your query is in reference to your previous question which I answered, see in IGNOU MEG explores more detailed study of  English and American Literature along with Canadian/Australian/Indian English literature, the course structure also focuses on deep understanding of evolution of the language, its studies and covering various aspects of it, As your rightly said, there are four compulsory paper in first year which are British Poetry/Drama/Novel and Aspects of Language, and in second year also there is one compulsory paper that is Literary Criticism and Theory, you can choose any three amongst the following-

  • American Literature
  • Indian English Literature
  • New Literatures in English
  • Australian Literature
  • English studies in India
  • American Novel
  • A survey course in 20th Century Canadian Literature
  • Contemporary Indian Literature in English Translation
  • Comparative Literature : Theory and Practice

Akshita Dhiman 9th Aug, 2021
Hi there,

This diploma course is open to all yet you do need the required skill set atleast the basic knowledge. The admission to the course is done on the basis of 12th percentage. There will be no entrance exam conducted for the course. As far as I know your 12th marks should be considered for admission. Although you can confirm the same by getting in touch with the respective college that you are seeking admission in.
