I got 64/64/67 (X/XII/B.Tech (Environmental Engineering)) with 3.5 years work experience. Do I get admission in IIM (MBA in Sustainability)?

Adil Suaib Khan Student Expert 26th Mar, 2019

Hii

Abhisek

You have decent but not so good academics profile but you have a work experience in the desired field in which you want to work adn continue further with . Being a B.tech Graduate might make getting into IIM a bit tougher for you abhishek as IIM's are focusing on diversity and prefer a B.A student over a B.tech but you can't loose hope on that . A very good CAT/GMAT score can get you through it and help you bag a seat in one of the top IIM's .You are required to score anything above 99 percentile to get a call from all top IIM's. For more on applications/procedures/admissions to IIMS you can visit-https://bschool.careers360.com/exams/cat

Hope it Helps..

Thanks!!!!

I have done my BTECH in environmental engineering .what are the scope for jobs in psu after appearing in gate exam ?which paper of gate ?

Shivani Poojari 10th Feb, 2019

Hi Raj

People who did engineering in Environmental Engineering domain can chose to write GATE exam in either Civil Engineering domain or Chemical Engineering domain. It is choice of the applicant. But it is mostly recommended to write GATE exam in Chemical Engineering domain, so that even the syllabus in the exam, job roles which are offered after getting through PSU interviews and syllabus of environmental engineering go hand in hand.

If an applicant clears GATE cut off according to his/her cateogary and if they get good rank then they are eligible for M.Tech admission process in IIT's and NiT's and also an excellent GATE rank accompanied with very good personal interview would easily fetch candidate a Public Service job role.

PSU's Which consider GATE score in Chemical Engineering:

  • BARC
  • ONGC(Oil and Natural gas Corporatation Limited)
  • IOCL (indian Oil Corp.Ltd)
  • HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited)
  • BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corp.ltd)

PSU's Which consider GATE score in Civil Engineering:

  • AIA (Airports Authority of India)
  • HPCL
  • IOCL
  • NFL (National Fertilizers Limited)
  • NLC India Limited
  • ONGC (Oil and Natuiral Gas Corporation Limited)
  • PGCIL
  • THDC India Limited

I am expecting a score of 370-420 in GATE 2019 OBC category and want to join DTU for Mtech in Environmental Engineering? How are the chances?

Aditya Sharma Student Expert 5th Mar, 2019

Hey Ayush.

See the marks u have scored in the GATE exam is equivalent to the 30-35 marks out of the 100. This marks is enough for u to get admissioned there under ur OB quota. But that too can't be said in surity as the level of paper this year was bit different.

So if u are focussiif in that college u must go for it as u are having a good chances for getting there admissioned for pursuing ur higher studies.

Hope this helped u. Ask If u are having any query.

Good luck
