Environmental science
To get admission in BHU for M.Sc post graduation course is through BHU PET. Based on previous years the cut off for M.Sc Environmental Science would lie in the range of 110-200. As you have 204 rank which is very close rank the chances to get a seat is still very less as there is a lot of competition and tens and hundreds of students within the difference of even one marks.
As far as Non Core/IT/Finance/Consultancy Placements are concerned, both being top IITs provide substantial opportunities with good Pay scales and maximum packages lying between 14-20 LPA.
Core Placements for both your options are Bleak. Last year as far as I remember only 3 Companies lined up for Ocean Engineering Students, ExxonMobil, Indian Register of Shipping and Oceanergy. IIT Bombay Environmental too faces same dearth of Core opportunities.
I would advise you to forgo the top 5 IITs and target the Next 5 IITs. You will surely get either of Chemical/Metallurgical/Industrial at IIT Roorkee, BHU, Hyderabad, Indore and Guwahati.
Another choice can be taking a Core Branch like Mechanical , Petroleum or Chemical at IIT ISM Dhanbad.Core placements at IIT ISM are at an all time high there.

Hello Isha!
As of these branches are considered, I would suggest Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is one of the core engineering branches and the placement record is definitely better than environmental branches. Job opportunities are very less for environmental branch out in the industry. Since IIT Delhi is an excellent college to study, it is a safer option also.
Hi Nisha,
Hey, If you wanna to get only therotical and bookish knowledge thatn you can go for B.Sc. Environmental Science. If you want practical and do and learn oriented learning than you should go for B. Tech Environmental Engineering. You will get a job in both the degree, but the chances of jobs are more in B.Tech degree.

hi,
see the eligibility criteria for gate exam is candidates need to have bachelors degree of 4 years in technology or in relevant field or 2 years masters course in relevant discipline. however students who are in final year of their bachelors or masters course are eligible to apply. so I suggest you to give your masters course as latest degree. since you have bachelors course of 3 years duration I guess, you have to give msc course as your latest qualification.
Hello student ,
Earth and environmental science subject is a subject of interdisciplinary .In earth science it includes study of geosphere or the rocks under our feet and deals with both active processes happening today (volcanoes, earthquakes, erosion ) and also topics in deep time (such as the history of life, how the continents came to be, etc. ) whereas Environmental Science as including other non Earth sciences such as biology, atmospheric science, toxicology, geography, sociology and political science .
