It is the age of Science and Technology which improved the quality of our day to day life style. The Science plays a vital role in our lives. It has made the dreams, imagination of the man true. Today there is no place left where the man can not reach Science and technology make it possible as form the moon to the lowest point on the earth everything is possible today is just because of the science and technology. science is nothing but the systematic way of learning the knowledge. It can be defined also as the subject which studies everything.

There are several scientific studies and discoveries which make our lives easier such as discoveries in communication ways, medicines and surgery, computers, Mobile phones, Agriculture, Atomic energy, Entertainment and education etc. Their are several Scientist in the different fields which did a lot of discoveries in the different field.

Here are some wonders of the science and technology which improved and changed the field completely

Agriculture :- Science and subsequently technology has been of great help to farmers through innovations and development of new farming techniques, farming equipments and machineries that can be used for large scale farming, hybrid crops, fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides to help improve yield and reduce the harm of the crops from the Pests.

Electricity :-The invention/discovery of electricity heralded an unprecedented change and development for human civilisation. It helps us run heavy machinery, trains, heavy wagons and large industries. Home gadgets and appliances like electric fans, Air Conditioners, light bulbs, electric heaters, electric cookers, washing machines and many others have ensured that our lives are more comfortable. Most of the technologies we have today all depend on electricity for power.

Entertainment :- The radio was the first ever means of serious entertainment that science gave to us. People listened to the news, songs and educative programmes on it. Now, entertainment advancement through science has gone beyond the radio and we now have great innovations in entertainment. We now watch T.V even on our phones and other devices and we can get information from all around the world on the internet. In this way the Entertainment field improved due to science and technology.

Medicine and Surgery :- Wonderful medicines that give our body immediate relief are products of science. A lot of deadly and dangerous diseases have been overcome with the help of science. There are various medicines and vaccinations available to help save and prevent people from many diseases. Even body parts can now be transplanted through surgery all thanks to science. We can now get legs to enable us walk, ears to assist us hear and eyes to help us see even when we don’t have them. There are new and better ways of carry out surgeries; the field of medicine has experienced tremendous improvements. Organ transplantation and blood transfusion are now very easy and simple things, the invention of ultrasonography, X-Ray, MRI, ECG, penicillin and many others has helped make the diagnoses of different problems very easy In this way the science improved the Medicine and surgery field.

Transportation and Travelling :- We now travel very fast and with comfort because of the wonders of science. There is no part of the world that is too far to be reached within hours. Cars, buses, ships, trains, airplanes are the vehicles which can be used to the travel purpose.

Communication :- There has been a fantastic change in the way we communicate because of science. We do not have to communicate by letters and wait for ages to get replies to our letters. Telephones have made communication simple and without stress as we can talk to people in very distant places over the phone.

In this way the Science and Technology covered our whole life and improving the lifestyle and living by its daily discoveries in several fields as there are Advantages of these wonders similarly there  are some disadvantages.The wonders of science should be used for improving the lifestyle of humans. It should not bring tears in anybody’s life. we should be careful while making use of these human created wonders so that person or environment should not be harmed.

Yes! Now UPSC provides options to write GS and Optional papers in different mediums (Since 2018). If you choose to write GS and Essay papers in Hindi and Optional Paper in English you can do so. But point to be noted here is, If you choose to write GS and Essay papers in English then you have to write Optional papers also in English. It means, given the technical/subject specific terminology in optional, you are given opportunity to write it in English while writing GS papers in your fluent or compatible language.

You will get these option while filling the application form for prelim. UPSC ask optional subject and medium both for GS & Essay papers and Optional subject separately in the preliminary stage itself. So, you get sufficient time to get yourself ready and mater in the chosen language.

Further, If you write your GS papers in English medium and want to choose Hindi for interviews that option is also available. But that is not vice versa, that is if your medium for mains is Hindi/regional languages, you can not opt English for Interview.

So, Go ahead without any hesitation or concern if you are more comfortable for Optional to write in English and confident for GS and Essay papers to write in Hindi or any other regional languages (VIII Schedule langues). All the best!!!

Selfishness puts an end to hopes, and therefore the futility of a life. It has no future as it ends with negativity and therefore even if a person lives, selfishness makes his life meaningless. It becomes worse than death. It separates you from the goodness and you are cocooned to live an unflavoured life with the only partner called negativity. It will eat you from within and kill the taste of life.

Hence Love is expansion as it has the power to gift life, it is the basis of creation and expansion of our being; and selfishness is contraction as it sees no life, but only ends- end of happiness and the end of hopes thus making even a living life a terrible death.
