Considering the previous year cut off you do not have chances of getting seat in NIT/IIIT/GFTI. You should have scored minimum 96-98 percentile score in JEE Main in order to get seat in NIT. You have chances to qualify in JEE Main considering the previous year cut off. The cut off for EWS category was 70.2435518 percentile and this year it is expected to be in between 70-75. If you are interested to get seat in IIT you may prepare for JEE Advanced 2021.

Hello Aspirant,

For EWS category candidates, EWS rank closes around 15k for female candidates in JOSAA counselling so on such EWS rank even after considering female quota you won't be able to get any of the colleges though JOSAA counselling.

I belong to general caste, and I belong to EWS category. One person from the department of the State Education Board of Assam told me that in NTSE, there is reservation only for OBC category EWS students (Im from Assam). Can i get any kind of reservation in NTSE for being a general caste EWS ?

Manisha nayak 24th Aug, 2021

Hello student,

Hope you are in best of your health , so the answer to your question as follows:-

Reservation

  • Candidates belonging to the Schedule Caste group have been awarded 15% reservation based on national standards.
  • Students from Scheduled Tribes are entitled to 7.5 percent of the total seats available.
  • A provision of 4% reserve has been made for physically challenged applicants or those with Benchmark Disabilities.
  • According to the new NCERT guidelines, applicants belonging to the OBC category would be allowed a 27% quota.
  • It is worth noting that the same reservation provisions will apply to the NCERT Scholarship Scheme.

So , for general EWS category as per now there is no reservations in NTSE.
