Hey,
The EWS QUOTA reservation as directed by the supreme Court has to be implemented in every college for admission . The rule was new last year so most of the colleges didn't include it in their admission process.
But I guess from this year the college will include the EWS reservation category in their admission process . The college with EWS quota last year is given in the link below. You can refer to that link to get a clear idea about the college and their cut offs.

As far as the fee is concerned, there is no reduction in the fees of student belonging to EWS category.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
What exam are you talking about and what kind of help would you like? please be more specific. thanks
Greetings,
So generally spot admissions are done to fill the vacant seats by different colleges and universities according to the categories that they have available. Typically spot admission process happens really fast as by the time the vacant seats are filled the regular academic schedule is already in full flow. This creates certain restrictions on the college
- To fill the seats fast they only give just one chance to candidates that are applying
- If a candidate fails to appear for the spot admission on the required date he/she is immediately bypassed and the next person in line is allotted the seat
- If a candidate fails to submit required documents then also he/she is bypassed for the next in line
As you can see, it is a hard and fast process that does not leave much room for candidates to take their time.
If you still want then you can try and contact the college authorities regarding your spot admission process and send someone else in your place (parents, etc) to submit the documents and compete the process, if the college is fine with it then you'll get admission easily.
best of luck.
Hello Aspirant,
According to the category and rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the branch in HBTU Kanpur as per previous year's cut-offs but yes I would suggest you to sit for some other state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.
Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.
So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!
Hi. Yes it will definitely give you an edge if you apply under ews category. This year, the cutoffs have fallen substantially as compared to 2019. You will get a better branch than what you could get with the general category. So go for the ews category and all the best.
Regards.
There is a set number of seats distributed for each category. Right now we have a 10% reservation for EWS too, which means that 10% of the total seats in an institute are reserved for the economically weaker candidates.
If the EWS seats are filled by the time your rank is reached in the merit list while the counselling procedure is going on, you can claim the general or unreserved seats if they are vacant.
