can I get nit with 20k rank with ews category
Hello
This difficult to predict as cut off keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like
----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) jee main examination difficulty level.
-----------) branch preference by different candidates
-----------) the category you belong etc.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then ,
Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 :-
---------) NIT Nagaland :- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering :- 8007 EWS rank
---------) NIT Raipur :- biotechnology :- 8096 ews rank
---------) National Institute of Technology Agartala:- production engineering :- 8629 ews rank
You can verify the above at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
So , to get a seat in NITs, you need at least around 8.5k EWS rank
Thus,
-
with your 20k ews rank, chances for NITs is extremely low .

hlwo aspirant
hope you are doing well
As per the NEET reservation criteria , 10% of the seats will be reserved for the candidates who belongs to economically weaker section.
Those candidates whose family own any of the following assets will not be considered eligible to avail admission under EWS quota.
5 acres of agricultural land and above
Residential flat of 1000 sq ft. and above
Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities
Residential plot of 200 sq yards and above in areas others than the notified municipalities.

EWS(Economic Weaker Section) is for students who belongs to general category and whose family income is less than 8 lakhs and does not belong to SC/ST/OBC.
The eligibility to get the EWS certificate is not only purely based on annual family income but also based on the held property.
there are no benefits of the UNRESERVED CATEGORY RANK. Admissions in the Unreserved category will only be in the basis of ALL INDIA RANK.
This time, EWS category has been implemented for the UR category students. If you fulfill the given criterias for EWS you can get it.
hope this is helpful for you
