I have given jee main form in ews category. I dont want to appear in jee advance. Will my ews candidature get cancelled??

Subhrajit Mukherjee 19th Sep, 2021

Nope! If you wish to take admission on the basis of JEE MAINS rank then you can go for it. Its not compulsory to appear in JEE ADVANCED until and unless you want to study in IIT's. As you don't want to give JEE ADVANCED there is nothing to worry about the JEE MAINS category.

I got 41735 rank in ews category . Can in get nit or iiit in any branch. If not then please suggest some govt. colleges at my rank.

Anirudh Singh 18th Sep, 2021

Hi

Based on your category rank, under All India seat (since you did not mention your home state) you might NOT be able to get into majority of NITs under Other State quota and Gender-Neutral seats. However, you may have a good chance in Home State quota depending on the state, however, you may have to compromise for branch.  I will advice you to post a new question with your home state as well.

You can use our College Predictor tool for JEE Mains to help you in finding college and branch of your choice based on your merits in the exam.

Good Luck

I have got 78 percentile in EWS category what are my chances to get NIT for computer science

Dhruv Agarwal 18th Sep, 2021

Hey Aspirant,

First of all percentile does not decide what college and branch you'll get but it is the rank that decide the same. Now this year the cut off percentile for EWS category is 66.2. Now taking a look at last year statistics you might not be able to get into the NIT. But since this time the cut off is low you might get bottom list NITs but not CSE. But dint lose hope there are many other good colleges.

Please see the link below to predict your college

i got 90000 crl rank and 13703 in ews category could u please tell me what nits Or iiits i will get and with cse branch and i belongs to Andhrapradesh

Sharon Rose Student Expert 18th Sep, 2021

Hello,

We regret to inform you do not have any chances to get seat in Computer Science Engineering in NIT or IIIT or GFTI with such category rank. Taking the previous year cut off in to consideration  you need to secure a rank under 7000 (EWS rank) in JEE Main in order to get seat in Computer Science Engineering in NIT or IIIT. But your category rank is above 7000 so you do not hold any chance to get seat in NIT or IIIT in the preferred course. You may have to seek admission in any other institute accepting JEE Main score.

The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

I will appear in JEE-2023. I am GEN category living in MP state. My family income is less then 8 Lacs per annum hence I am eligible for EWS category. Please help me to decide applying under which category to get a better IIT/NIT college ? Mujhe kis category me good college mil sakta hai.

Souvik Dey 18th Sep, 2021
Hello aspirant
You have almost 2years for attempting JEE-2023 examination. You will not worry about possibilities of colleges or good branches, instead of devoting time in this stuff focus on your study. You have so much time try to make your concepts very much clear.
As you mentioned, the criteria of EWS reservation matches, it is very much helpful for you to get good colleges with good branches. When registration will be starting then you have to produce EWS certificate but don't worry you will have sufficient time for this.

Hope this helps you
Best wishes to you

my JEE mains rank is 86000and ews category rank is13.2k, I am from Telangana. is there any chance to get admission in any nit with any branch

Nitya 18th Sep, 2021
Hey,

Getting NITS is not possible with this rank, if we look at the cutoff trends of last few years. Getting into IIITs is also tough.
You can refer the link for last few year's cutoff

However you can get some good colleges like:

  • GGU - Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
  • Delhi Technical Campus, Greater Noida
  • Netaji Subhas University of Technology
  • HMR Institute of Technology and Management
  • Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technolog y
  • Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology
  • Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Bhopal
  • Pondicherry Engineering College - PEC
  • GGSIPU - Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
  • Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology

For more predictions of the colleges that you might get with this percentile, you can use the college predictor tool.

I have selected ews category in my neet application form if I wish to take admission through general quota do I need to submit ews certificates

pushpachoudhary7413 18th Sep, 2021
Hello aspirant
Hope you are doing good

If you wish to take admission through general category then you don't have to submit ews certificate as it wouldn't be needed if you aren't seeking ews benefits.
But if you want to take admission using ews quota then do produce the certificate otherwise you won't be able to take benefits.

Hope this helps
Thank you

I have selected ews category on my neet form but havent got the certificate yet and the second phase registration is going to start what should I do ?

pushpachoudhary7413 18th Sep, 2021
Hello aspirant
Hope you are doing good

you can attend the neet counselling but if you don't your ews certificate then you will be treated as a general category student during the counselling and then you will not be eligible for seats reserved for ews candidates and hence will not get any benefits.

Your application won't be cancelled but yes you'll be treated as a general individual and won't be eligible for any kind of reservation benefits.

You can request the authorities of the place where you applied for ews certificate to kindly consider your case as special and explain them your dilemma. Maybe they'll help you in producing your certificate early.

Hope it helps
Thank you

can i get iiit nagpur or iiit andhra pradesh with rank 36000 in ews category

Anuj Kumar 28th Oct, 2021

Hi,

The seat allotment of IIITs Depends on factors like Community, Category, Gender. It is very difficult to predict which college you could get as cutoff changes every year. But if we see in 2020, the EWS rank of last student in gender neutral category was 6705 in IIIT Nagpur. While in IIIT Sricity, the EWS rank of last admitted student was 6551.

So based on these cutoff and your EWS, your chances of getting into these institutions is very less. To know about what colleges you could get with your JEE Mains rank, visit here: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

I hope this will help.

Good luck and Thanks!!!!!
