Are work reference letters from previous and current employers required for executive MBA in India and Abroad? Even for a full time MBA?

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 19th Oct, 2019

Hi Nikhil,

The Executive Post Graduate Management course or the PGDM is currently the best one year full time management course that is offered by some of the best Business schools for business and corporate executives who want to learn more about the industry.

It is mandatory to have a past work experience certificate to join the course as this course is for working executives only and thus during the placements it is essential to produce the last pay package that they were offered at their last place of employment as it helps the employers get an idea of the person before the PGDM course and where his/ her current stand is and thus it somewhat affects the future pay package that is supposed to be offered during placements to some extent.

Thus it is entirely evident that you need to have proper work reference letters from your previous or current employers as it is one of the eligibility criteria for the Executive PGDM course.

Is work reference letter or work experience certificate from previous and current employers compulsory for Executive MBA in India?

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 11th Oct, 2019

Hi Nikhil,

Work reference letter from your previous employer is mandatory for pursuing an Executive MBA course and thus you need to get it issued from your employer. This is the sole reason the course is called Executive MBA program and one of the eligibility criteria for the course is to do Managerial service at any organization for at least 5 years or more.
