Junior Fashion Designer
Bftech(Fashion design) is a four year undergraduate course which enables the candidates to conceptualize different designs, make design patterns and construct garments. This course concentrates on the various aspects of fashion design. B.Tech in Textile Technology is also a four year undergraduate course which concentrates on various techniques used in textile production. This course is solely meant for the candidates who are interested to explore the core areas of textile production.
B.Des (Fashion Design) and its opportunities

There is no restriction for the fashion designing course regarding the stream. All streams are eligible for applying for fashion designing course.
But if you are sure that you only want to be a fashion designer, in that case you can take arts as other streams are not of much use in this case. By taking arts you can take out time to explore your creative side and also can prepare for the entrance exams.

There are mainly 5 steps to become a fashion designer...
STEP 1
.Complete a degree program
In order to get a foot in the door of this competitive industry,designers need to hone their skills through a degree program,you can earn an associate or bachelors dagree in fashion design,where they take courses in computer aided fashion design ,the history of fashion,textiles,figure drawing and pattern making.
Fashion designers may also complete degrees in fashion merchendising to train for job which has a cirriculam that covers merchandise planning,retail sales promotion,consumer behaviour,retail management and production development.
STEP 2
.sharpen skills with hands on experience
In ordr to sharpen skills need to execute a design from an ides to the finished product,students need to get practice outside of the class room
STEP 3
.Learn the business of fashion
behaind the creative flair of the fashion industry is the business acumen needed to keep a company runnung.In addition to learning and creative side of the field,students should also familiarized themselves with what goes on behaind the scenes such as finances ,sales and marketing
STEP 4
.Put together a portfolio
in order for future fashion designers to show off their talent to potential employes they have to create a portfolio demonstrsting their skills and creative sensibilities.Portfolio allow people to show off a range of skills,including their sketching,sewing,and pattern making abilities.
STEP 5
.keep up with trends
The fashion industry changes from season to season,so its impotant for designers to keep abreast of the trends,this can be done by regularly reading industry journals and magazines.

To become a fashion designer, the most important requirement is to have a highly creative mind and out of the box thinking. You should have the ability to see the unseen. If you think that you have a genuine passion for fashion designing, then you should appear for the design entrance exams, qualifying which will get you admission in a fashion school.
The best fashion design institutes in India are National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and National Institute of Design (NID). Typically fashion designers have an associations or batchelors degree in art,design,fashion merchandising or even fashion design which many universities offer as a major or concentration the BLS recommends that fashion designers study at a post secondary institution accredited by the national association of schools ,but if fashion is your passion,this major may be custom-made for you.
Fashion design majors learn the nuts and bolts of designing and making clothes and accessories,classes cover everything from sketching and computer design to pattern making and fabric selection.
Majoring in fashion designing is different than traditional major and more like an arts major,however it is creative and spent hours in the sewing lab with your fellow students it was an rewarding experience
