Fields like Food Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc are not that much package wise best as we used to hear about the field such as CSE, Electrical etc. So its discouraging yet true that the packages of BTech in Agriculture & Food Technology at IIT KGP, will not be as good as CSE. The salary package on average is around Rs. 6-8 LPA CTC & with time it may increase but the starting salary isn't usually very much higher than this.
