is maths is compulsory to take food technology

Hello aspirant ,

I am hoping that you are absolutely fine and doing well. As per your mentioned query, no it is not compulsory to have maths of you want to opt food technology course. As it is a field of science that deals with the techniques involved in the production of food, both organic and inorganic.

As per the eligibility criteria of the food technology course candidate should have passed their 10+2 with Pcm or Pcb stream. It is not compulsory to have mathematics as main subject if you done your schooling from biology then it is also applicable to take admission in this course.

The admission is based on entrance test like JEE MAINS , JEE ADVANCED , BITSAT.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) to pursue BSc in Food Technology.
Admission to food technology courses is done based on marks scored in the entrance exam, which can be an all India exam or an exam held specifically by the Institute.

Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology conducts entrance examination, called IICPT, to enrol students to undergraduate food technology courses offered by it.

Yes you can write gate exam.
Eligibility criteria for writing gate exam is Candidates should have successfully completed your 4 year BE orbitech program or are currently pursuing your final year in the degree then you are eligible for GATE exam. There is no restriction for food technology students for participating in the GATE exam.
If you are pursuing your b.tech infotechnology after completing that you can definitely write GATE exam for CSE. B. Tech in Food Technology holder can give GATE exam in Life Science subject. 'GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. ' If you have Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department then are eligible for GATE exam. GATE exam is for testing your technical skills. It doesn't matter which course you did your undergraduate program. If you are eligible as per the eligibility criteria mention about then you can write GATE examination.
