Food technology is a branch of food science that deals with the production, preservation, quality control and research and development of the food products. Food technology is an engineering subject which is to be studied by the science stream students. An engineer has to study the pcm subjects mandatorily in order to opt for the engineering career during their college years.

Yes, you can easily take food technology course if you have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in your Intermediate.

But you also need to study basic Biology along with General Microbiology, Foof Microbiology, biochemistry etc. in the course.

To qualify as a Registered Dietician, you are required to pass the entrance exam conducted by the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA). You should have either completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics or a M.Sc. in Food & Nutrition, followed by a 6-months internship after graduation, to be eligible for the exam. The exam is divided into 2 papers. After completing Graduation  with any course you have to do B.Ed ( Bachelor's in Education), Government of India made it mandatory for Candidates who were applying for Government school teachers.

The minimum required eligibility to apply for the Bachelor of Education is   Graduation with minimum 50% from a recognized university.  Aspirants should always check the recognition status of a university institute on the official website of NCTE. Govt of India has made it mandatory for the Government teachers to acquired B.Ed.

At IGNOU for the course of Nutrition and Dietetics, the eligibility criteria is:

B.Sc Home Science with specialization in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition
Or
PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition or its equivalent
