Yes, it would still be useful. BHEL, GAIL, and SAIL would still recruit students on the basis of their GATE score. If you think by being private, they won't provide perks to their employees then you're wrong. GATE score would still be considered for admission to top engineering institutes like IITs and NITs. So, overall it depends on you.

Hello Ujjawal, as you are going through b.tech final civil engineering so you must be looking for jobs from now on. And as per your question GAIL( Gas Authority of India Limites) do have jobs for civil engineering aspirants. You just have to prepare yourself for it. Hope this helps!!

Hello Arun. Yes, Gail (Gas Authority of India Limited) accepts the form for all the electrical and electronics related core fields of engineering majors. Basically, It accepts form for Chemical and Other is instrumentation. All the electrical fields comes under Instrumentation hence, kindly fill the form under Instrumentation which will include the electrical branches such as ECE, EEE etc.

Also, at the top, one needs to clear GATE exam which could be given by all the graduate or graduating engineering students in their final year. GAIL is an semi Government functional body whose core criteria of recruitement is the GATE exam.

In addition to the information, for the instrumentation, the paper code is IN and for the Chemical division which includes : Chemical and Petrochemical, the paper code is CH.

Students appeared for Instrumentation and Chemical engineering papers in GATE are only eligible.

Well, This is yet to be checked as most dont specify this. They generally have an age limit however for GAIL it has been specified. So you will have to check as I have known students who have completed their M.Tech and then gotten into a PSU through GATE. So pls dont take GAIL as the parameter. Kepp checking once the applications start and apply accordingly.

You cannot use apprenticeship or internship as work experience as its not fulltime opportunity but rather more of contractual opportunity.

However in some rare cases colleges do allow apprentice experience if its substantial and is mor etgan 4 to 6months. Else its negligible for any MBA college.

GAIL has not announced the recruitment through GATE for 2018. The article doesnt have any link. It has been updated now. NPCIL has announced their recruitment and AAI too. Pls check if you can apply for those.
