I am clear with my goal I want to be a general surgeon .But is it worth it to study in a private medical college (fee is nominal same as govt college)and complete MBBS early and focus on gaining practical knowledge as much as possible and a good pg seat (or)isit worth it to takeadropforaiims

Karishma Sawhney 28th Apr, 2022

Hello aspirant,

The only difference between a private medical college and a government medical college is the fee structure and clinical exposure to some extent. Private colleges too are at par with the government ones in various aspects and even better when it comes to infrastructure. But as you mentioned, the fee is nominal, so I suggest taking admission this year and not taking a drop as the competition will only increase in the coming year, so will the number of students attempting the exam. You can focus and dedicate an ample amount of time to your MBBS subjects and then go for your NEET SS exam and secure a good rank.

Hope it helps!

How many months a pregnant general surgeon can work in hospital??

Ayush 15th Jan, 2022

Hello candidate,

1. One can avoid surgery in the first trimester when we can because there are some risks related to anesthesia and other drugs when administered during the period of embryo genesis, which is when you baby is being formed.

2. Moreover, If the surgery is necessary but non-urgent it is best to delay it to the second trimester.

Hope you found it helpful. If you have any further questions feel free to post it here.

Can a general surgeon have free time for family and other dreams?

Abhishek Roy 27th May, 2021

Yes, definitely after the Hectic 10 Years of Education and Training since cracking Medical Entrances and Admission, a Doctor can definitely have a great career balance between Work and Family. Most of the Doctors after proper Training, Residentship and Education join Hospitals and other Medical Service Facilities and get good perks and benefits, in lieu of the Challenging and responsible job they do.
