Hi,

Cut-offs changes from year to year and that's why it is difficult to predict. Cut-offs depends on many factors like category, number of students appeared in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, etc.

You might try for Private Medical Colleges in Rajasthan either normal seat or Management seat, for your NEET PG Rank, based on previous year's cut-offs.

To check the possibility of getting Orthopaedics/ MS General Surgery seat in Medical Colleges in Rajasthan, you can use below mentioned College Predictor Tool.

seat in govt qouta ms general surgery general category..rank 13673

Kuheli Sanyal 14th Oct, 2021

Hey,

Last year the cut off rank for general category in MS General Surgery under All India Quota through All India Counseling was around 10000. So based on this it is quite difficult for you to get a government quota seat. But you can surely get a management quota seat in MS General Surgery. To get a complete list of colleges in which you can get a seat in your desired branch, you can use NEET PG Predictor

will I get ms general surgery through state qouta in patiala my rank in neet pg is 13673...general category

Hi Akshit, hope you are doing well. With regards to your question I want to mention that with a rank of 13673 in NEET PG, and matching it against the previous years rank vs marks cutoff trends in different government medical Colleges in Punjab you have a pretty good chance of securing a seat  in two Government Medical colleges in Punjab namely Government Medical college, Amritsar and Guru Gobind Singh Medical college and Hospital, Faridkot. Now after securing a seat your branch of specialisation can vary. You have good chances of securing a seat in MS General surgery but keeping in mind the fierce competition nowadays its better to keep an alternative always. I am sharing you the article which may help you to a great extent. Hope it helps. Thank you

My score in NEET PG is 593. Can I get MD MEDICINE OR MS GENERAL SURGERY IN top government colleges in INDIA ?

Ayush Roy 3rd Oct, 2021

Hello Aspirant. You mentioned  your expected marks in NEET PG is 593 out of 800. Based on this marks, your overall  AIR may end up somewhere around 3215 - 3515 . As you didn't mention your caste, I assume you belong to General category. As your result is already out, I recommend you to mention your exact rank in the comment box below, to get a more precise prediction.

Anyway, based on your performance in NEET PG 2021, it is less likely for you to get admission to MD General Medicine at top-rated Government Medical colleges in India. However, if the seats are available and if you are lucky enough, you may get chance for MD General Medicine at Annamalai University ( 2020 Cutoff - 3,484)

Apart from this, you have good chances in various private colleges for pursuing MD General Medicine.

Now, coming to your second choice, MS General Surgery. Based on your marks and previous years' data, you have good chances in few Government medical colleges in India such as:

  1. Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur (2019 Cutoff - 4,011)
  2. Baroda Medical College, Baroda (2019 Cutoff - 4,119)
  3. Osmania Medical College (2019 Cutoff - 3380)
  4. Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai (2019 Cutoff- 4498)
  5. Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Kolkata (2019 Cutoff - 4804 in Round 1)
  6. Medical College, Kolkata (2019 Cutoff - 5012)
  7. Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati (2019 Cutoff - 5275)
  8. Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences (2019 Cutoff - 5439)
  9. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer (2019 Cutoff - 6635)
  10. Annamalai University (2019 Cutoff - 6660 in Round 1)

Please note, this prediction has been made based on previous years' cutoff details and may be subjected to vary from actual results.

To check your chances in 50% All India, 50% State Quota Govt Seats & Private Seats, Central & Deemed Universities for your Home State, Seat type, Caste, etc. and to get a NEET PG Counseling personalised report with Top MD/ MS/ Diploma Colleges in All India & State Level Counsellings, I encourage you to use NEET PG 2021 College Predictor:

Is MS in general surgery really hectic 3 years course in which students dont get time to sleep and eat? If yes then when do they study?

anirudha vats 23rd Jun, 2021

Hi,

Well the medical program in itself is very hectic. The masters program or the MS program is very practical oriented and requires a lot of oh hand experience gain in anatomy and surgical interventions. It is usually very burdening in terms if coursework and that is why it is said that students don't get time to eat and sleep but that is more like a phrase and even though life is very busy, you do get time for needs.

I hope this helps.

All the best.
