Is it important to give General test for bsc (hons) ?

Neamah Fathima M R 7th Aug, 2022
The basic eligibility to take admission in BSc Honours course is 50% in Class XII in Science stream from a recognized board. The students must have core subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their Higher Secondary level. The age limit to take admission in BSc Hons courses is minimum or above 18 years.
The top BSc entrance exams are CUET, NPAT, SUAT, etc. CUET is the most accepted entrance exam for BSc admission 2022. Other exams like NPAT, CUCET, and SUAT are conducted at the university level for BSc admission. For both BSc Honours and BSc General courses, entrance exam may or may not be conducted depending on the university/ college policy. In case of no entrance exam, admission in the courses is done on the basis of merit determined through marks scored in 10+2 final examinations.
Attending entrance test is not necessary for getting admission.
Thank you

Tanya Gupta 5th Aug, 2022

Hello,

CUET, known as Common University Entrance Test is an entrance exam for admission into top colleges. The normal eligibility criteria for B.Sc. Math Honours degree course is a pass degree in 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with at least 50%. The eligibility subjects for B.Sc Maths honors is 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

No, you cannot get B.Sc Maths (hons) in case you chose Maths, English and General Test in CUET. As you have not chosen Physics and Chemistry, you do not fulfill the eligibility.

can i appear for only biology, english and general test in cuet if the eligibility for my chosen university is only biology for that said course ?

Tanya Gupta 2nd Aug, 2022

Hello,

Yes, you can appear for Biology, English and General test in CUET even if the eligibility for the chosen university is Biology. This is because you already fit into the eligibility which is Biology and additional subjects would not cause any problem. It is more like your choice now about the other subjects.

The University where Biology is the eligibility, Biology as your subject in CUET will only matter.

I hope this helps,
